Obligatory "I've never seen participation ribbons being handed out" post. This phrase is so over blown. Or, your kids are terrible at sports and are playing in some bad tournaments. Or playing soccer.
First place trophies are what we strive for in the sports
world. It is great to participate in the battle for first,
but we only remember the winners. Participation ribbons
only water-down the experience and give a tip of the
cap to losers.
