Tyler Cook is playing for the Canton Charge and is on ESPNU as I type this, game is late in the 4th quarter. Tomorrow at 7pm on ESPNews Peter Jok's Arizona Suns play Fort Wayne Mad Ants and at 9:30pm on ESPNews Adam Woodbury's Grand Rapids Drive plays Jarrod Uthoff's Memphis Hustle. That is all....

Am I missing a joke somewhere?

The box score for the game listed him as going 6 for 7 and 14 points for the game with no free throws or 3 pointers. I was never great in math but 12 points should be the correct answer, but then again what do I know.:)

It's worse than that, it shows him with 14pts, 6-7 (0-0 3pt) fg, 1-2 ft.

6-7 from the floor with no other stats makes it look like the missed something. 6-7, 1-2...well, their math sucks.

Is Baer still in the G League?

Woodbury playing for Grand Rapids. I had no idea he was still in the G League. Uthoff is playing for the Mempis team in this game as well.

There are worse ways to spend your twenties than playing basketball across the US for $60,000. It’s not a career; but they make decent coin playing a game they love; and presumably they can transition into coaching or whatever vocation they choose once done.

From what I can find, G League players earn $35,000 per season.

Seriously? I would have thought that the incredible individual talents on display in the G League would have fans willing to pay hundreds of dollars for tickets, networks paying billions for broadcast rights and players earning millions from endorsements.

If the NCAA can generate billions from a group of players where only a small percentage are actually pro prospects, shouldn’t the G League be able to generate significant revenue where each team is filled with pro prospects?

People don’t feel affiliation with G League like they do college teams. It’s also not marketed / televised nearly as heavily. Also, with the best players back and forth between the G League and NBA, it’s tough for the games to mean much. As soon as most G League players realize that an NBA career is unrealistic, they head overseas to make actually good money. The 35k is usually only for a couple of years

Apparently, my sarcasm didn’t come off as planned. It was in reference to college players who feel as though universities and the NCAA are making millions off of their talents. In reality, universities and the NCAA are making millions because there is an avid appetite to watch players compete for their respective schools.

Oh, my bad for missing it... looking back at your post, it was pretty apparent and I just didn’t read closely enough
