Patrick Kennedy - All-American

We should go visit the thread with me defending Kennedy as the best 174# on the team as well as his past Nationals performances. 95% of his past losses were to AAs, many national champs. He avenged 2 past loses in this tournament and still has another year to be at 2x AA, despite wrestling up a weight. Gabe will be great but has a little work to go.

Yes you did. Haven’t been this happy for a guy since Max.

Don’t hurt yourself patting your own back lol

Hard not to respect the hell out of him; he easily could’ve up and left the team for what might’ve looked like greener pastures when we loaded up with guys around his weight. I’m extremely happy for him! Kids the true definition of grit and determination.

Congrats PK. Tough kid who doesn’t get the respect he deserves. I always felt he was underrated. Glad he was able to break thru
He was actually overrated coming out of high school. He was nowhere near a true top 10 p4p kid. And that's not a knock on him.

Him wrestling up a couple weights in high school hid his biggest deficiencies which the top 10 guys don't have. He put himself on the stand by outworking everyone else.

I get that he was a top recruit, and people expected AA right out of the gate.

I’m just saying IMO the kid has always been a tough wrestler and gets a lot of flack because of his HS ranking.

Fighting for a job every year, does whatever coach asks of him, battles to best of his abilities every match..just happy to see kids like that get on the podium. As a PSU fan. Jimmy Guilibon is a good comparison and I was pumped when he made AA status regardless of the expectations out of HS

Not at all. This was 100% a pat on the back. And most on this Board expected it from me after I defended PK and got shit for it from Day 1. I stated he was the best 174# on the team and backed up his career performance at IOWA with facts and stats, rather than fandom opinion. Go take a read and you'll pat me on the back too.

You can hear AJ's insane interview about the bamboo toilet paper in the background for the last two minutes, lol.
How can you not love this kid? Nowadays athletes are so media conscious and trained that they can speak for hours and not say a damn thing. Not pk. He speaks with passion, with a clear mind and a clean conscious and a full heart. Iowa needs guys like pk, hell the world does.

Oklahoma State fan here. Glad PK got his chance. Have alot of respect for this kid. Find myself rooting for him unless wrestling a cowboy. Hopefully Gabe starts in the duel next season hahaha.
