Payton Sandfort

Hawkeye Elvis responded to the tweet, "Dude. I was in on the IPO." Lol.

I also liked PS's forced turnover when he ran and defended the 3-ball attempt. A little Uthoffesque? A little? Nice game, Payton.

He is learning the lessons he needs to as a freshman. Projecting where he will end up will depend on how he leverages this experience and translates its growth to increased output.

Really nice young player.

Last 2 games have proven he needs Connor's spot and minutes in the rotation he is so much more of an asset on the court. Connor needs to slide to 10th man in rotation where Sandfort was. Bench should rotation should be Kris as our 6th man and bring in one or both of these for guard spot Ulis/JoeT/Perkins (depending on which ever one starts and who is on the bench), then Sandfort and finally Connor for spot minutes.

That is what happened last night so hopefully close to what you say and game by game depending on whose effective.

Rothstein is a little late. I, and a few other posters, have been calling for more Sandfort for several weeks. I have suggested giving him some starts, depending on matchups. Iowa has been shooting poorly for awhile, especially from three, yet Sandfort was collecting splinters on the bench. It's about time he was given a chance to show what he can do. He will be a key to this team's success the rest of the way.

I have not seen a lot of him yet but what I have I LIKE. Reminds of a smaller Tom Chambers. Can’t wait for him to get bigger and stronger. Huge upside.
I see where you're coming from, but Chambers was also freaky athletic. Not sure Sandfort is at his level of athleticism. Very nice all around game, though, beyond just shooting 3-pointers.

It's one game. He's still learning and making great strides. He'll be a major contributor over the next 3 years.
Well I’ve seen him a few times this year and for the most part he’s active and doesn’t shy away from hitting the glass. Sometimes his shots are dropping but when they don’t he works the boards and plays D. I get the young thing but he contributes. Just sayin.
