Penguin (max)

Last season. Going out on top hopefully. The City Council meetings are still some of the funniest shit I’ve seen in the past 20 years on TV.
The first one in the first season is what hooked me on the show. Nandor speaking in front of them was freaking hilarious.

Their no sell reaction is what floored me. Which I completely understood. My dad was a city councilman. Nador wasn’t different from some of the locals that would show up to vent.

I’m surprised this show isn’t being talked about more. I’ll be watching episode 7 tonight after TNF. This series has been great. And I have always thought Colin Farrell was a good actor, but after watching this, he is pretty ridiculous.

Anyway, highly recommend this mini series.

I thought episodes 6 and 7 were not as entertaining. Still a good series though.

Yeah, that came out of nowhere for me. Absolutely brilliant. Beautiful ending to the series.
I think the ending ruined the series for me. Spoilers here so don't read any more if you don't want to be spoiled.

Why would he kill him? Oz is supposed to be a pragmatist, albeit an impulsive one if he feels belittled. It makes no sense. There is the notion that he cares about Vic and doesn't want to have someone he cares for used against him as leverage. But why kill a loyal and productive #1 before that happens? Vic would be as dispensable if taken hostage as when Oz choked him to death. I hated it.

Don’t read my reply if u haven’t seen last episode.

Did you see the look in his eyes when he killed the boss in the beginning. It was pure madness. Had the same look when choking out Vic. Just like Tony Soprano. Yes he pragmatic and charismatic. But he’s still a monster deep done. Oz killed his own brothers. Because he couldn’t handle competing for his mother’s attention. Even the end with his mom is monstrous. Very Norman Bates.
Deep down he didn’t like how Victor made him feel. Everything needed to be in order and in control for him physically and emotionally

But he killed people like the boss's son impulsively when they impugned his self-image. He killed his brothers because they were a threat to his resources (mom's attention). The #2s at the end killing their bosses made sense because the #2s became the bosses at that point. Vic was loyal to Oz and talked Oz up, and did not talk down to him. Since he is a sociopath and willing to kill Vic now, why not wait and let Vic die later if the opposition tries to use him as leverage? It had a bit of Dany burning down King's Landing feel for me. Just made no sense.

because at this time he understands who and what he is. He has shed any skin of humanity. Vic was his last piece of it.

I suppose. But I didn't like it. I guess if I would have to see a second season - if there is one - to see how far gone Oz is from humanity.
The next Batman movie is coming up. So we don’t know how much the Penguin and Sophia play a role in it. I think with the quality of this season and how everything was wrapped tightly another season would be a letdown.

Because he's the Penguin. It was their way of reminding us to not forget who he is...that the guy is truly a POS.

Whoever was in charge of makeup better be winning an Emmy with what they did for Collin Ferrell.

I'm guessing there will be another season because I think the ratings have been pretty good for the show. That's usually the motivating factor.

How could there not be a second season? This, to me, was just establishing the character.

Easily for me the only/most watchable series in the whole Marvel/DC universe.

Collin Ferrell better win an emmy for his acting. Absolutely brilliant.

Just finished watching last night. Best series I have seen in a while now. Agree with Tenacious, didn't love the killing of Vic at all. I guess I understand the reasoning, but liked Vic a lot. I guess I will hope for a second season, just don't think it will happen.

If there is a second season they did plant a small seed. Oz really gave the Mayor Elect the longing stare from affair.
So as in the comics his next goal would be to become Mayor.

Just finished the series. That twist at the end was nasty. Oz is a monster. That's what they were going for and they delivered.
