This! I feel like he and Gabe are the only two guys who have been ready to go every outing.Zach Glacier. Ice cold. Locking down the last two dual meets with clutch victories.

Ya thinkI honestly would like to see them shirt Gabe, save the eligibility of Ferrari, hit the portal hard and regroup next year. We are simply not a trophy winning team this year.
nodo we have the right coaching staff for the new rule changes? Are we recruiting the right kids? Riding people out and winning 1-0 isn’t sustainable going forward if Iowa is going to stay relevant.
Nope, I have heard rumblings but I know nothing. I just don’t believe we have the coaches that are capable of adapting to the new style of wrestling. Technically gifted wrestling is surpassing aggression and intensity. I don’t see Iowa wrestlers getting better offensively. They get stronger and in better shape….You realize as many as 5 of these guys won’t be in the lineup next semester.

Im also wrong a lot.
That's a big BINGO!!!Nope, I have heard rumblings but I know nothing. I just don’t believe we have the coaches that are capable of adapting to the new style of wrestling. Agreed!Yeah, that's pretty f'ing stupid putting him on the mat in a meaningless dual when he's nowhere close to ready, condition wise. Everything was on the line against Iowa State; nothing is on the line tonight.
We're not going to have any talent in the room to develop if we wrestle like this every dual. No high octane performer will want to be part of this WTF, do nothing for 7 minutes, style of wrestling.A lot of development for us
We've got a lot of room to go.
That about sums it up @Nashville_Hawkeye. 😆😆
One of which is this performannce. IMO the bad things that happened have nothing to do with the lackluster performance of our 125-157 pound lineup or Teske's poor start this season. I get it that some bad things happened, but there's other stuff happening (i.e., Woods wrestling to survive these last couple outings) that just shouldn't be happening. We have no sense of urgency and clearly no desire to destroy our opponents. To be fair to the program some bad things have happened lately
With the way these guys are wrestling it might be tough getting top tier talent from the portal. I'm thinking put our best team out there and hope that we can do well enough to draw some decent talent next year and beyond. This snooze-fest style is not going to bring the next Spencer Lee to Iowa, yet those are the kind of kids we're going to have to draw if we want to remain relevant in this NIL / transfer portal era.I honestly would like to see them shirt Gabe, save the eligibility of Ferrari, hit the portal hard and regroup next year. We are simply not a trophy winning team this year.
Agree about Gabe.I honestly would like to see them shirt Gabe, save the eligibility of Ferrari, hit the portal hard and regroup next year. We are simply not a trophy winning team this year.
Seriously?? With upgrades coming in January, we are definitely a trophy winning team - maybe even favorites to finish second even without Arnold (but with a healthy PK).I honestly would like to see them shirt Gabe, save the eligibility of Ferrari, hit the portal hard and regroup next year. They all better post, because we sure as hell aren't winning any trophies with this team as is.Seriously?? With upgrades coming in January, we are definitely a trophy winning team - maybe even favorites to finish second even without Arnold (but with a healthy PK).
What upgrades are you talking about? Outside of AJ who else are you talking about?Seriously?? With upgrades coming in January, we are definitely a trophy winning team - maybe even favorites to finish second even without Arnold (but with a healthy PK).
almost has the feel of the last team Zalensky had when he was shown the door after an 7th place finish at the NCAA...i'm not saying Brands is out by any means...more along the lines of those guys seemed to stand around and couldn't score either...kinda like this years team
Then your memories aren't very good.I don’t want to jump off the ledge or anything but this is beginning to feel like Zaleskys ending years. If it wasn’t for transfer portal this would be lucky to be top 10 team
Keuter likely isn’t top 3, but I think he is AA quality. What upgrades are you talking about? Outside of AJ who else are you talking about?
Even with AJ I'm not sold his points give us enough.
Unless Gabe is starting it's entirely possible we get nothing out of 125, 133, 149, 174, 184, and 285.
That's worse than bad. That's devastating.
Yep, everyone else is crazy……. You must get to watch practice or something.Keuter likely isn’t top 3, but I think he is AA quality.
Anthony Ferrari is an upgrade over VV IMO. May not be a ton of points at NCAAs, but should be more enjoyable to watch.
AJ would be a big improvement.
PK is very good. When he gets in wrestling shape, he will be a handful.
Teske will be better when healthy. Is Schriever a better option? What is going on with him. Haven’t seen him - is he hurt? Still not many NCAA points.
Ayala is good. Not sure what is going on with him, but think he is much better as the year progresses.
Woods and Franek are still very good. They just need to open up a bit more.
Caliendo is fine.
184 is a hole.
141, 157, and 197 will get us a lot of points if AJ is in the lineup.
Still think 125 and 285 are AAs - and maybe even 165 and 174.
133 and 149 get us a few points, but not many. 184 is a NQ.
There's a shit ton of speculation in your post.Keuter likely isn’t top 3, but I think he is AA quality.

Trust me brother, these meets are anything but comedy; they are painful. And for those of us watching from home many probably wish we were half drunk so we could be in a more vegetative, relaxed state watching some of these matches. Even you can't be OK with what you saw out of 25, 33, 41, 49 and 57 these last two meets. Our two finalists barely escaped ISU with victories and the other weights just sucked. And tonight wasn't much better. I don't think we're whining; I think it's more like bitching and complaining because we have a higher standard than what we've been seeing these last couple weeks. You "guys" are the whiniest bunch of girls I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Every meet it's pure comedy; if we do poorly it's "Omg we'll be lucky to get top 10", if we do well it's "Wow Jace Rhodes looks like a title contender."
Hopefully you're all just half drunk every meet or something and not actually like this in real life. 🤣
He doesn’t have enough weapons from neutral if you can avoid the slide by.Ppl should start looking at the trend that is DA. He’s been okay, sloppy at times. Temper the expectations
I bet Alayna looks locked in tonight.
The SW were not called the same after the first two matches.Sounds like some hometown cooking on the SWs…
Another lackluster showing attributed to "sickness" or "training through the dual". It's garbage, and it's far too common lately.I'm usually an optimist, but this is really hard to find anything positive about this dual so far.
This is like watching a Brian Ferentz offense materialize on the mat, makes me want to vomit.
I hope we're coming off a bout of sickness and this isn't what we've turned in to. If this is what we bring in March we may not even be top 10.
"Not whining, just bitching and complaining." You might want to google synonyms for whining lol.Trust me brother, these meets are anything but comedy; they are painful. Missed it guys, who is the Ohio State Alum commentator?
Correct, and he's also Penn RTC with Penn assistant coaches Mark Hall and Tyler Berger. That's why the announcers are total Penn homers.Joey McKena I believe
Two duals in a row? Maybe we just aren't doing jack squat outside of 1 or 2 guys.Sounds like some hometown cooking on the SWs…
This is what happens when a Ferentz style offense takes over the Iowa wrestling program.Trust me brother, these meets are anything but comedy; they are painful. We are better at 157 and 165 because of suspensions. If we put Arnold at 174, then it’s just 184 and Heavyweight adversely affected by suspensions, right? Obviously 2 important holes, but those holes don’t excuse lackluster performances at other weights. And, let’s be honest, we’d be even more pissed if Assad was wrestling because he’s be losing or barely winning.A win is a win. We all knew this season could be tough with all the suspensions. Hopefully we still have a few lineup improvements coming in the new year!
I understand there was adversity with the suspensions. Curious why you think they need to be commended at this point.Maybe I’ll take heat for this but with the adversity this team has faced in the last 12 months I think the staff needs to be commended at this point.
The gaps they have are also long term gaps. I don't agree that they've done everything possible to fill them. Maybe everything possible that they are capable of. The 2nd best team in America should not have trouble filling gaps. They don't recruit well enough. They don't plan well enough. Many examples, but its kind of like the BF argument. Some will never agree, so lets agree to disagree. Who is going 125 next year? They knew Nate J. wasn't coming well over a year ago. Who is going to AA at 133 next year? Who is 141? Again, we aren't perfect. You could say we are as good as Okie State and Ohio State. But if the goal is to do better, we aren't doing everything possible. If that were the case, it would mean we can't catch PSU ever, and I don't believe that for a second. They’ve done everything possible to fill the gaps to this point and my fingers are crossed that the luck changes next semester.
They went out and got two AA transfers. Possibly have 2 more coming in next semester. They attempted to get Nagao and Truax and lost out to PSU. I’m not sure exactly when they knew Jeseroga was out for sure but it’s not like top 5 pfp 125 recruits grow on trees. I’m not sure how u expect them to replace that right away.I understand there was adversity with the suspensions. Curious why you think they need to be commended at this point.
