Per Blair, there are 3 BB Visitors for the Penn State football game:
3 star CJ Fredrick, 2018
4 star Joe Wieskamp, 2018

Got to think playing with Wieskamp would be an enticement. If Fredrick's willing to walk on at Iowa, he's going to have some seriously positive things to say as well.
Hawkeyes also going to have 2019 4-star IN PF Trayce Jackson-Davis (@TrayceJackson) on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit.
McCaffery/Jackson/Carton would make a very fine class for 2019. Then we could concentrate on 2020. And we haven't even started the 2017-18 season! Whew, just had to get excited there a second... They have 3 top 70 prospects for 2019 visiting. One week after they had Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, a top 20 prospect, in town.

Four things:
1. Look at this list.
2. Three of the 5 have already committed to Iowa/Fran.
3. Amazing and exciting to think about the other two highly ranked players committing to Iowa/Fran.
4. Hopefully Kinnick is electric and the Iowa football team puts on a good show.

Carton has other visits after the Penn State game..back to Wisconsin again. And of course Johnny come lately Illinoise. Next year will be interesting.
Fran and his group HAVE to overachieve this year. If they can do that recruiting will trend up some more.
I thought 2 years ago Marcus Paige could of made us a sweet 16 or possible elite 8 team. I think DJ could take us farther than that.

maybe...BUT...and I always wonder this...we know that in order to make a Sweet 16..first thing is make the tournament....2nd win that 2nd first weekend game * assuming one doesnt get upset in the 1st round.
a NCAA Sweet 16 really comes down to winning a single game.
If i recall, cook committed not long after than awesome night game win over Pitt a couple years ago. Maybe we'll have something like that happen with one of these guys after we beat psu in thrilling fashion.
i'm all in for an early commot but it wont be Carton..he has said no verbal til next summer. It might be fair to say the kid is going to see close to a full slate of college football games this season in terms of how many...
I hope he gets a goose bumps when the boys come out the tunnel with BlackNBlack blaring...

Hope you are right, Bob. I hope being so close to Iowa City is a factor; is most of his family in the Quad Cities? That and Iowa doing so well and playing time might be huge factors in his decision

zero. Kid is/was going to go to the school that he felt/feels best suits him. Also isnt/wasnt going to make a quick decision---next summer most likely. This isnt by no means an Iowa slam dunk but at this point we have a shot.... but so do others....among the ones that have offered.

why would he make this team the predator and why can't Iowa be the predator with JBo at the point?
doesn't matter the statement is that Iowa will the predator and not the prey this means to me that Iowa is still the prey with JBo as the current PG.
Illanoy is guard heavy already and has a new coach who is an unknown comodity. Can't see them as a player at all. Wisconsin poses the biggest threat to poach him, I think.

Nice to have a legacy hawk in there with our potential recruits. Not bad to have the best hawkeye in the last 10 years there to help our cause.
I agree...I think it can be a real factor for any recruit to have the opportunity to mingle/hang around not only former players but also current ones. Gives the recruit a chance to get a perspective what it is like to play for coach, classes, etc...direct from the people who know.
The more Carton can hang around our guys..the better.
