Not sure I’d go as far as throwing out cell phones altogether, however the social media thing has been a disaster for the most part. Opened up a whole generation of internet tough guys and whining babies
made a helluva lot of people rich, too

i barely look at Facebook anymore; too much politics, for one thing; and some people post way too much shit & some people seem like all they do is complain about what is wrong w/ their life

Heck I would argue the loss may have been good for them ! Rather see a loss to the top team in the country and work on some elements that were exposed, rather than beat up another cupcake that doesn’t improve the team one bit. A little humility can go a long way
good points; coaches can break down the game film & make the players realize they have work to do

and better to lose to an elite 8/final 4 type team in December than in the actual Elite 8/Final 4 in March

I thought with the time off Gonzaga might not be quite ready but damn they were. They just pose so many issues for not just Iowa but for all the other teams in the country except maybe Baylor. They have four pros starting; Suggs who will be a top 3 pick, Kispert, Ayayi, Timme. Everyone knows Iowa struggles to stop teams from scoring so it isn't a surprise they lost. People complaining aren't being realistic.

I wanted Iowa to win the game. But I cannot imagine the amount of pressure it would be on these guys being ranked #1 in the country. They are #3 and lost to #1 and we all lost our sh-t!! lol. God forbid we lose like MSU did yesterday. Lets all just enjoy the ride!!!

Tell you what, the Zags are a fantastic team. No doubt about it.

Just don't understand how we cannot seem to guard the perimeter or grab rebounds.. it's a chronic issue that doesn't seem to get addressed.

But...a ton of games left in the conference to [hopefully] dominate.

IMO:
1) fewer minutes for Patrick and Jordan
2) more for Keegan & Joe T
3) Nunge - shoot 100 3's in practice

Win the Big Ten!

Love Keegan but that was too big of a stage for him. Jordan min need to stay the same. Patrick needs to play more and get more comfortable. Going to be one of our best ever imo. Nunge needs to stop shooting and get his ass under the glass when he is not hitting. Needs to be confident in that 3 ball or it will never go in.

WTF? Not sure how you come to these conclusions....

Keegan: 5 minutes - 1 point - 1 rebound
Patrick: 10 minutes - 0 points - 0 boards

Keegan's level of hustle matches anyone on the court at any time. You've concluded it was too big of a stage for him?? Give me a break. At least he provided SOMETHING.

And Joe T. should absolutely take some minutes from Bohannon. He's quicker. He drives, successfully. He plays defense. Enough said.

Ok, well I'll let my contact on the team know what you said so that whoever is spreading this around can get straightened out. If they exist.

Lol. Wanting a player to focus his energy on the court and not away from it is not exactly ground breaking stuff, but you do you.

I agree. At this point Keegan has shown that he belongs on the court when the minutes count. Patrick has not and needs to work on his game when the stakes aren't as high. I think he will end up being an excellent player but he was lost out there on Saturday and it showed. Same with JoeT. He's shown he belongs and has tools that nobody else does defensively.

I don't know anything about this, but @jellyfish10 has had good info before. I can confirm that.

FYI Blair I had a really interesting conversation with someone before the season about the incoming class, how they would mesh with the returning players, etc. I decided not to post it here for this reason. When I have some time I will direct message you. Granted some of it has already played out before our eyes, I just found it fascinating. Take care.

I was told by someone in the program that the team wants JBo to STFU and just play. However, if you are tweeting at a college athlete you are a goddamn loser.

I can guarantee the NCAA wants him to shut down his podcast. He's not making profit off it but he gets a platform to blast them.

Totally agree with Tweeting negative crap at college athletes. I haven't heard anyone tell him to stop but I wouldn't be shocked.

What would be great is if the team feels this way, to take it to Fran and ask to have him benched until he gets his head right and in the game. Instead of spouting off on twitter and his podcast crying about the NCAA like he seems to be spending his time now.

IMO since he closed it down at the end of last year, he has been writing checks with his mouth, that his play hasn't been able to back up and cash. Just the opinion of one fan who is frustrated with that particular players "swagger".

The Zags are really, really good and they played really, really well. They had a guy with 27 and 4 other guys in double figures. Usually when the Hawks lose this kid of high scoring affair it's because the other team gets open 3'd (and makes them) and gets lots and lots of layups. It happened Saturday.

If the Hawks shoot 4-22 from 3 and 14 - 26 from the line, there could be more games like this. It was hard to watch the ball bounce off the rim so often in such a big game.

Basketball - must make shots to win.
