We’ve had a pandemic where over half a million people have died in the past year. Racial tensions accross the country are sky high. One of our players is a cancer survivor. It’s all perspective.
As for expectations, it’s been like 22 or 23 years since Iowa has gotten to a sweet 16. Is it possible that perhaps this may be Fran’s ceiling?
We had the national player of the year who also holds the scoring record for the school, plus a 2nd team conference player and a PG who’s hit a TON beyond the arc.
Those types of players are rare. We were a top 10 team for the majority of the season. We got a #2 seed. That’s pretty good so the season was actually successful.
