Peter the Great!

Lol..... Ogelsby or ellingson? Hopefully this is sarcasm. Jok is best I remember.

Why did Naz Mitrou-Long decide it was a good idea to compete wearing sunglasses? It was interesting that the commentators picked Mitrou-Long, Walton and the Villanova player to win the contest and Peter showed them all how to shoot the rock. I am going to miss him as well.

Apparently, it was a charity thing. If so, this will be the one time I congratulate him.

Yes they all got them I believe. Though I think he was just wearing them to draw attention to the charity / for fun, they have hurt his performance.

I wanted to add it looked like Naz was taking video of Peter's later rounds for him with a phone. Thought that was nice.

Best I can remember, but my mind slips as I get older.

McCausland and Kingsbury and Brookins and Gatens and Hansen. I'm bouncing around trying to remember them all from my remembrances. Pete ends up tops, though.
McCausland was a great shooter by percentage anyway. Led the nation his senior year, I believe around 53% from three. Kingsbury was a highlight reel, streaky scorer who could make some incredible shots. He reminds me of a kid you'd see on youtube banking one in from 100ft off a building. Strong as an ox, and could take it to the rack as well. While he could get hot and light it up, I don't think he was nearly as good a pure shooter as Jok, or Kent Mc. Just IMHO though.

Pete did a great job last night representing himself, his family, his adopted state, and his university. Despite what some people in high places claim, immigrants continue to make America great. They have since day one, you may recall, since everyone but the native Americans are immigrants.

Proud of you, Pete. Beautiful shooting. Way to represent. Hawkeye fans will miss you, man, and we wish you the best in your future career, whether it's the NBA or somewhere else. And proud to say you're a fellow Iowan.

I didnt know pete entered illegally. Cause thats the only immigration of concern.

Hoping that someone like Bohannon gets the chance to beat Terry Furlow's MSU record of 50 points in a game against the Hawks that was the Fieldhouse record at the time (1976) then and hasn't been met in Carver-Hawkeye Arena since then. And that was done without the 3 point shot too. I watched Furlow a lot in my high school years right before I started school at Iowa that same year he got the record then. That game was my first big exposure to a Hawk basketball game.

Don't remember, so I'll ask. Maybe HawkI Bob or someone knows. How many points did Laefester Rhodes score against Iowa, or was that at Hilton? I thought it was over 50pts.

Rick Mount scored 53 points against Iowa in the Fieldhouse in 1970.
I remember listening to that game on the radio with my dad. Iowa scored over a 100pts,(which was normal that year), and need all of them to hold off Mount from Purdue. I think that game sewed up a 14-0 BIG season, and of course the BIG championship that year.

Sorry, my earlier post indicated that it was at Iowa where Furlow scored 50 points as a "Fieldhouse record" against iowa. With further googling it was a "Fieldhouse record", but Jenison Fieldhouse record at Michigan State (as well as a Michigan State record then). Had falsely remembered that as a game in Iowa City when it was at MSU then.
