Pico must have ticked Metcalf off

Nothing against Freddy but I don't think he will he will be much of a factor for the rodents. I wonder if his dad is a reason why the coaches didn't want him?

lol. I can understand wanting to stand-up for your kid, but get a freaking grip man

Hawkeyesports92, why don't you think Stroker will be a factor for Minny?

I'm glad we got Kemerer over Stroker, but we won that match on a shot-clock call and a 2-point exposure that had to be reviewed to be awarded. I'm not quite ready to write off Stroker yet.

Oh boy, I hope Willi Saylor doesn't read Fred Stroker's tweets.... I just read a few of his tweets and Mr Stroker doesn't care too much for the Iowa board.

Re Pico...call me old school, but it seems the height of arrogance to talk smack immediately after you've gotten your ass kicked.

Yeah, Tarp -- it was a little odd. I think Pico expected to come in and shock the Iowa crowd. When it became clear that he was unable to get any offense going against Brent, I think he got really frustrated and his immaturity came out in the heat of the moment. Seems like a great kid -- I think he just lost his head there. Not real wise to go Golden Gloves against Metcalf, either -- also a result of his frustration, I think.

The irony was that Brent did most of the shooting. He just wouldn't allow Pico to get him out of position, which I think came as a surprise to Pico. Although the score wasn't real lopsided, Brent pretty much controlled him from start to finish, and I think Pico realized that later in the match, to his demoralization.

He didn't help matters the guy is a real tool. I know a lot of the fan base in Bettendorf, after all this is my area. I'm very happy we got Kemerer

Don't know either Fredy or Kemmerer. I am really happy we got Kemmerer. However, I would have been happy getting Fredy too. I have seen him interviewed quite a bit and watched him wrestle a lot. Seems like a great kid so I hope we don't get into a Fredy bashing session on here. As for his Dad, he is defending his son...so be it. He just needs to realize that his son is in the public eye and there are going to be douchebags no matter the school. Had he gone to Iowa, it would just be someone else. So Col Stroker, just be proud that your kid so good that he invites scrutiny. Good luck to Fredy at Minne...except I hope he is counting the lights at Carver ;)

Certainly didn't get screwed. I was impressed how K exposed his back on that last scramble. He knew it too.

I for 1 thought freddy was jumping up and across to try and expose Kemerer as compared to Kemerer exposing him. The way they originally scored it. Ive got no dog in the fight. The reffing was typical of freestyle; inconsistent and hard to follow at times. The ref missed an illegal throw on Cejudo when he threw Ramos for 4. Same throw that got Mark Schultz DQ'd at the Olympics.

Either way, I tthought Stroker was impressive

Well, he's going to wrestle at Minnesota for a reason.

That said, I hope his win in the State Finals was the last win he has in Iowa for the remainder of his career.
