One of the most under rated players in Iowa BBall history, in my layman's opinion, was Chauncey Leslie. He was one hell of a PG..quick, great ball handler, could get to the hoop, good defender, effective outside shot and played far more under control than PP..........but didn't get to play nearly as much due to PPs presence.

PP was a cancer to the team/program for reasons stated in this thread. He put a depressing fog over the entire program, alienated fans, and further damaged the coaches credibility. All of that pales in comparison to what he did to that poor victim.

Leslie was great...wasn't he the one they asked to leave the program?

I think he finished up in good standing......he really got to blossom once PP was gone. That's my memory which I don't claim to be the best....but he was a juco guy that I wish we had for for 4 years.

I have read all his comments that he said after the assault and even the following year doubling down saying they needed to move on. Also know about the involvement of AIA in hopes that the victim would not press charges.

Well there is Alford discounting the womens story and saying he believes in Pierce.

There is moving the girl to WDM for a while during the case and Pierre actually confronting the girl

Alford giving a guy who was straight up guilty of rape a second chance.

So much more than that even. It was Bayloresk and Michigan State esk.

If you ever spoke to the lady he did this to about him. You would totally understand what an animal he is. He should still be in prison for what he did. If it's true he is coaching basketball in Illinois someone would have to be on crack to send a kid to play for him. I am a full grown Marine and when the victim described to me what happened I was crying my eyes out listening in shock.

Alright, one more try to clarify. I have no idea.

I’m just stating there are no certainties. The only certainty I know is Iowa’s record improved without him. I also know there are many examples in all sports where teams add a great player and get worse. And many examples where teams lost good players and get better. I just find your 100% certainty of how the season plays out with him odd. Just my opinion, and not a big deal what I think.

IMO, PP was an exciting player, but by no means a flawless all around player that guarantees a very good team is better with him.

I don’t think you know the whole story when it comes to Alford’s involvement. That’s just my opinion based off of what you’ve said here.

Alford did stick up (or back PP’s side) prior to being convicted for his first offense. When the news originally broke. That was the one and only time I recall siding with PP. That was a mistake on Alford’s part and I believe he even later admitted his mistake.

I’m not trying to downplay what happen to this young lady by any means. She is the true and only victim in this situation. Not Alford and certainly not PP. I just don’t think you have your facts 100 percent correct on how exactly it was handled. Again, just my opinion. Alford didn’t give PP a second chance. The U of Iowa admins/attorneys are responsible for that. That went well above Alford’s head.

The real story is he thought his girl was cheating. So while he choked her he pounded her parts with his knee repeatedly and asked if that’s what she wanted. Must have a small dick. Sick bastard.
