Pinstripe Bowl Is Ready For Iowa/BC

Turf looks way better than game photos I’ve seen. Hope it stays that way. BC has some gold jerseys. They should wear those and we wear black. I see a few years ago IU and Duke wore red and blue (no one wore white)

Former Yankee manager Joe Girardi will do the
commentary for the game on ESPN and Beth
Mowins will be the play by play announcer.

NY HS football played the title game on that field today in the rain. I’m sure they tore it to shreds

It's three weeks until the game. Unless somebody is playing in Yankee Stadium a few days before that, the turf should be perfect.

BTW: No Velcro needed on the natural turf of Yankee Stadium, so there's that. ;)

Muddy uniforms in December? Love it!

When they talk about how B10 football used to be about run games and defense, that is the type of playing surface that made that a necessity. I wonder how Wadley will do with those jump cuts on a muddy field, though? His skill set is tailor-made for modern artificial turf surfaces. Maybe Butler and Young will play a bigger role if there's a lot of slipping and sliding.

Bears' NFL rookie Gale Sayers ran for six touchdowns in the mud at Wrigley Field on Dec. 12, 1965. See a story here: http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/nfl-rookie-gale-sayers-ties-single-game-td-record

You can also see the performance for yourself here:

So it is possible for a great RB with speed and quickness and jump cuts to do OK on a muddy baseball field, whether at Wrigley or Yankee Stadium.

If the blocks are there, I am confident Akrum will do just fine, even if there is a muddy field. Just ask Gale Sayers.

Right on. Thanks for posting that. It's been so long since I've seen a mud game that I just wondered if guys were able to keep their feet while making cuts. Of course, Sayers is a HOFer, one of the best ever, so I'm not quite sure he translates to Wadley. ;-) But I get your point, they have similarities in running styles. As long as Iowa wins, I don't care how they do it. :)

Not to be contrarian but I have heard the opposite preached as well. The offense has the advantage because they know what they are going to do and the defense has to react. Whatever happens, let's just hope we win.

The alt unis would be great. Shake of the routine and make it seem special. We have not won a bowl game in 7 years so it probably should be special.
