Pizza Hut Pizza

Underrated.
Ordered a medium pan supreme pizza last night. It was delicious.

I last had Pizza Hut about a year ago and was not impressed. Seems like they were a lot better back in the 1970s and 1980s and have gone downhill over the years.

Is Godfather's still around? Granted Iowa pizza options were limited at the time but that was some greasy though very tasty stuff.

Best Iowa pizzas way back were Pagliai's, Felix and Oscar's, The Airliner's and a place in Ames, The Great Plains Sauce and Dough Company. Late at not you might have ordered a wedgie from Paul Revere's. A calzone really, but none of us in Iowa knew what the hell a calzone was.

Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Caesars, Papa John's, etc
are all cheap chain cheesy pizza. Most pizza lovers
find a local pizza parlor that makes excellent pizza.
In the Quad Cities you have Happy Joes and some
others who make better pizza than the chain franchise.

While I don't disagree with the overall sentiment, Happy Joes is a chain. Not exactly a mom and pop shop.

Try the barbeque one from pizza the hut sometime, it's really good.

As far as "chains" though, I think Godfathers makes the best pizza. They have gotten pricey though.

Last time I had Pizza Hut I ordered the big New Yorker, it's been a while.

I'm a local pizza parlor type of guy....And because of all the New York and Jersey transplants here there are a LOT of great pizza places.

Pizza hut sucks. It's always super greasy, and it has a "salty" taste to it. No bueno.
Happy Joe's is a tiny chain and only has a few stores left, but I've always enjoyed their pizza.
Godfather's? For me it's store by store for how it tastes. But normally pretty good.
OP Pizza is fine if you like 2lbs of cheese on your pizza. I don't....so it sucks.

Not a fan of Dominos or Lil Caesar's. But Dominos will do in a pinch. I can't stand Papa John's.

I found a Shakey's in Homestead, on my way back from the Keys...which was one of my favorites when I was a kid. Had to eat there for nostalgia purposes. Not great, but not bad.

These pizza's are very good.

I remember having Shakey's as a kid in Florida and thought it was the ish. Haven't had it since then, probably, '83 or so.

Happy Joes is not a national chain. It started out in
Davenport, Iowa and has spread to several Midwest
states. I would call it a select regional business.

I don't care what pizza it is, as long as it comes with 2 gallons of papa johns garlic sauce on the side.

Pizza Hut was much better back in the 70's when they just had two styles of pizza- Thin and Crispy or Thick and Chewy.
About 15 or 20 years ago they offered a Sicilian crust pizza that was pretty decent. But they only offered it for a few months and then dropped it. I think I've eaten at Pizza Hut one time since then.

The last time I had Pizza Hut was 2 years ago. Had a 17 year-old, 11 year-old, and a 9 year-old in the house at the time. All 3 asked that we never have it again. Haven't had it since and never will. It was absolute crap. I have had better pizza in Zambia.

Pizza hut is garbage as to remain competitive I would guess they have to skimp on amount of and quality of ingredients. I think pizza hut pizza costs less now than it did 25 years ago

I don't know, I got 4 likes to saying it sucks and you got 1 defending Happy Toes. HROT has spoken. You can't put pepperoni on a pizza that looks like gerbil food and call it good.
What the hell are you talking about? I have had probably 500 pizzas from there and have NEVER seen ground up pepperoni.

Maybe it's an Iowa city thing. But there is some red meat product they dust their pies with that is just wrong.

This stuff on the right side of the pie. Oh and they deserve to be hated for putting chips on the pie too. So many things wrong in this picture.

That's their Canadian bacon, and I dislike taco pizza so no argument there.
