The problem with the hire, is how do you fire your son!?!? He needs to be demoted to a position coach.
You don't demote your son. The whole reason GDGD was hired was to placehold before BF could start padding his resume. No reason to throw away the master plan now.
How many yards did we gain running to the short side of the field? Let me rephrase that, how many yards did we lose? We ran the same garbage with Wadley all game for probably a 1.2 per yard carry. We took one shot downfield and it led to our best drive of the first half. Did we try again? Nope. Delusional, incompetent, clueless, and overpaid = our offensive staff.
I thought the play calling in the 1st qtr was spot on. Would have liked to have seen more outside runs / pitches outside. after the 1st qtr = seemed like afraid of the wind and run into 8/9 men. The play when the NU QB gained 21 yards was a back breaker that we have all seen before (Bison). Anyone could have seen that coming ...
Lack of adjustments by BF. That’s what you get when you let someone who is unqualified learn on the job.
NW weakness is in pass coverage with a freshman playing at one corner position that is not very good. Strength is run defense holding top teams like Wisconsin and PSU to a little over 100 yards.
What does Brian continuously do? Try to force the run when he should be attacking downfield with the pass after a two week prep time. I don't get this offensive identity and how bad it is when the defense has a very good one and how it plays most of the time.

With the lack of adjustments comment - I think He panicked a bit. Iowa went back to old conservative. The thing is - with the 1st qtr play calling before the red zone was not crazy all or nothing - it was simple take the free easy yards. When they got into the RZ it seemed afraid to win time. Also - why exactly did Mars become the go to guy - and that reverse crap with him needs to stop - kid has no court awareness.
