Trump...just STFU...

We don't not know it wasn't the ATC's fault.

I spoke to the head of a regional Iowa airport very recently. Post DC crash. We were meeting officially on an issue not related to ATC.

A collegue asked him point blank about ATC staffing locally and he said it is an issue. They cannot staff as well as they should nationwide and that the issue is worse other places than it is for us as a lower traffic airport.

If you do any reading at all about this issue, there is plenty of reason to suggest that ATC and the FAA have NOT been able to staff and recruit as they should be. More to come I suspect. Much has been made of a pretest that the Obama admin created to increase diversity that decreased applicant acceptance. You can choose to ignore this or not. If this is true, this affects safety without question.
You are a idiot and a deplorable.

Trump spoke out his ass to feed the hatred of his most vile followers, and people like you will defend him to the end of the earth.

Because you are a bad person.

The questionnaire was removed from the air traffic controller hiring process in 2018. Additionally can you support the argument that fewer applicants are being accepted. The claim that I have seen is that minority candidates were given preference over white men essentially. But this is a different claim than the acceptance or number of candidates declined. Air traffic controllers would argue that they have had a shortage since the 80s.

Just curious…what’s the typical salary of an air traffic controller? I suppose it depends if they work at a smaller, regional airport vs a large metro airport.

Looks like the median is around 140K.

Also of note about a 3rd of candidates wash out

Trump has never once taken an opportunity to unite Americans. Every single thing is an opportunity to leverage grievances and create anger and division. He feeds off of it.

Why was that?
Congress passed a law banning it. Can you explain how you think the questionnaire contributed to a staffing shortage? My understanding is that there are more applicants than there are spots. The argument that has been made in regards to the questionnaire is that less qualified people were accepted but not that the spots weren't filled. I suspect the primary determining factor for increasing staffing of air traffic controllers is congressional funding. If there isn't funding for the positions they can't post or fill them.

1. Not the question I had in mind. See above. Edited. Why has there been a problems since the 80s?

2. Sports weren't filled secondary to the questionnaire. Many qualified people failed because of it. Do more reading.

The FAA is being sued over it. Let me help you out.

These are federal positions that require federal funding. The limitation is not an candidate problem. For example 2022 there were nearly 60,000 applicants for 1500 positions. It's a funding problem

Did you read this citation or the lawsuit? These aren't supportive of your claim.
The lawsuit is based on the idea that preferential treatment was given to candidates based on race. It literally requires that someone else is given the spot in place of you otherwise there is no case to be made that you were discriminated against.

There is nothing to suggest that spots were not filled in your citation.

Doesn't work that way. You make accusations based on actual evidence. Which we didn't have in any detail about this event.

Trump was obviously free wheeling it without any info. No investigation into the crash had even commenced.

Trump speaks out his ass constantly anyway, we've only seen a million examples. This was obviously another case.

I have already stated that I am not a fan of his Day 1 approach to this insofar as he has casted apparent blame.

He also has access to information and advice that we do not. Obviously. He the President and has been given information and cause assessment that they wouldnt be willing to give to the public perhaps.

If it turns out that this was an ATC failure, those that criticized not the message timing or tenor, rather the content, will have been wrong. And they will need to admit as much.

Come on. If they had any evidence to support DEI accusation at the time he said it, they'd have provided it; and posters like northern and rico would be falling all over themselves providing links for it.

Remember when the Libyan ambassador was killed, and Obama's administration raced to blame the attack on some video as the inciting incident? They were lambasted by the right when it was revealed they were wrong (and rightfully so).
