Playing with a little house money Thursday....

Iowa has been off to just stone-cold from 3-point range for last couple games. Hope the lid comes off bigly.

Nice thing is Luka's steadiness. Get just one other player hot and I'm saying yes ... we have a chance!
11/23 from 3, we win by 9!

I'm not expecting us to do much more than show up on Thursday. A win would be shocking given the home team advantage in the Big Ten this season. Potentially a 20-point loss? I hope I'm wrong.
life must be fun for you! ;)

You have to think they will be motivated against us after what happened in CHA. That being said, we’ve already seen them give up once, why not twice?

Not expected to win @ MD, hoping they come out loose and have fun and see what happens. Protect home court Sunday afternoon, and it appears we are a sell out or a handful of tickets away at this point, should be a great game and atmosphere. Can't wait! Go Hawks!
Losses are unacceptable. If we lose Thursday, this board will melt down and rightfully so! Fire everyone!

I know you're being facetious, but should Iowa heaven forbid lose a road game to a very good team, an element of this board will act as if the season is over. I am like everyone else and want this team to win the league. But hope folks understand that even with all this team has done thus far, winning the league is still a remote possibility. Iowa has the toughest conference schedule remaining of any of the contenders.

I'll just enjoy watching this team compete.

My personal view is Iowa is a terrible matchup for the Terps. I mean, you're right they'll be motivated after looking like total trash in Iowa City, but I'm actually more convinced that Maryland is in fact just not that great of a team. Moreover, didn't Iowa beat them without CJ?

Now, on the more realistic side of things:
- tough to overcome the home whistles, especially if Garza gets into foul trouble because of it
- playing our second game in 72 hours time, or in 4 days, however you want to look at it
- if the Hawks aren't hitting from outside, anything is possible

Their bigs are playing well which could neutralize Garza somewhat, I don't doubt the quit and fight in our team, just a tall task tomorrow night. Go out and see what happens and come away healthy is my hope.

Garza plays smart so I don't think he'll get into foul trouble. I'm more worried about the refs swallowing their whistles when he has the ball on offense.

Maryland only shot 18% from 3 in CH Iowa shot 39%. Hopefully Iowa can be above 33% tomorrow night.

it would be really nice to get this game to balance out the Nebraska debacle.

I have thought for a long time that when the Hawks do finally win the conference again, it would be in a year when there were ZERO thoughts that it could happen. If they win Thursday I will start to believe there is a shot. Not that its a must win.........but it feels like the kind of game that could slingshot a big run.

This team has amazed me after our start, so I’ll never say never, but to win the conference we’ll need Michigan State to help us a lot.

This is the type of game that if we can find a win, is worth potentially a seed line or two. Hopefully the Wisconsin poor effort results in a wake up call that gets our offense back in gear on Thursday night

Have a little more faith in the Hawks ! If our shots are falling, we will be right there.

I prefer being realistic than having blind faith. We beat Maryland by 18 points at home earlier this month. We're good, but we're not 18 points better as a team than Maryland. It's the home court advantage in the Big Ten this season that's making the difference. It's pointless to speculate, but we got some favorable calls against Wisconsin in the second half to swing the game that I highly doubt we would have gotten in Madison.

I think Maryland in Iowa City was CJ's first game back....

Geez, surprised by some of the attitudes on here. I see this as a toss up, Maryland isn't that great. Spread is currently at 5.5 and I would be all over the Hawks with that line.

I think the physicality of the Wiscy game and travel will take a little out of the Hawks. When the bullies of the B1G were around the opposing teams record the following week was bad because they had more ‘dings’ from a week with Bob Sanders, etc.

Somebody who likes to research stuff maybe look at Iowa’s first game after Wisconsin, Purdue, and Michigan St (three toughest, most physical defenses) over the Fran era. I would be curious if Iowa tends to play well coming off the restrictive-movement physicality of those three programs.

We don’t have to be 18 points better, just 1 point better!!!!!

I wouldn't call the calls in the second half favorable, I would call it the refs calling what should have been called in the first half.
