Wait. I thought our season was already over according to some posters???
It’s over. Correct. Any chance of the playoff went out the window with ISU. But maybe we can try and beat all these former Big Ten West opponents this year and then claim a Big Ten divisional title!

Indiana sitting there at 24%. It's Indiana, so nobody really trusts them yet, but with how they have looked so far and looking at the schedule, it's not overly crazy to see them still undefeated when they go to Michigan on November 9.

Washington St sitting at 25% without a conference is really frickin' impressive. It would be really interesting to see what the Committee would do with them at 12-0 with a bunch of solid wins (TXTech, @WA, @BOISE, @Fresno, @SDSU, @ORSt) but no elite wins.

Haven't seen them play this year, but seeing them as a 21.5-point fave this week--against anyone--is a double-take considering their history.
Hope they're good though, that's a football fanbase that deserves to be thrown a bone.

Iowa is in the toughest conference now, without divisions, which heavily affects it's chances this year and going forward.

At least we made the list 🤷‍♂️

Would love to win the lottery and go to the CFP, but I'm not counting on either of those happening. And the Hawks aren't going to win the B1G either (shocking announcement).

There are well over 100 teams that are in the same situation.

Just hoping the Hawks can beat the Goofers and we'll go from there.

Never, ever, EVER put any stock into what FPI says about anything.

On DK, Iowa’s odds to make the playoff went from +650 preseason to +700 currently. Betting markets don’t overreact like fans do.

As much as I didn't buy the playoffs team hype that was being sold before the season, I also think it's ridiculous to call the season over. Of course it's not over. Expectations reset for some, maybe.
For my part, I want to see if the O can actually put on a show and be entertaining against the mediocre competition they'll be facing in the B1G.

But still was gifted a cupcake schedule. Imagine playing Michigan's! The Big 10 schedule guy has to be an ex-Herk, has to be. Every year same easy schedule.

Avoiding the bottom of the conference will be the goal in the future. Chances for playoff this year ZERO. Chances ever making the playoffs Near ZERO.

Depends on your definition of “over.” 11-1 Iowa is in the CFP, guaranteed. 11-2 Iowa with loss in BTCG is also very likely in.

Of course, pretty much every P4 and many G5 teams technically still control their own destiny. A vast majority will fall short. But very few teams have already absolutely been eliminated from consideration.

I had Iowa at 9-3/10-2 this season, and the loss to ISU doesn’t really change that.

The biggest barrier to a playoff birth for any team in the Big Ten (that isn’t OSU, Oregon, Penn State or Michigan), in MY opinion, is going to be a bunch of SEC teams with inflated records due to playing only 8 conference games, feeding off the narrative that the SEC is just so much better than other conferences.

Let’s say Nebraska, Iowa and USC are sitting there at 10-2 at the end of the season. You don’t think the committee is going to come up with any reason they can not to put in 9-3 Bama, Ole Miss
or Tennessee? I don’t trust them not to screw someone over, and even though the individuals on the committee may be different, they all have shown a clear desire to cater to the SEC.

Tough call. Home field could be the diff in this one. Illinois' win over Kansas isn't looking quite as impressive with KU losing to UNLV.
Will they have a full stadium? Doesn't Bessie need milkin or hawgs need sloppin on Friday afternoons? It's damn near shuckin time too.
