same. Although we do have a TV so sometimes I’ll watch a game while the kids ride bikes.
I read the first half of your sentence and thought WTF but by the end of it I was thinking "hell I think I could do that!"

We bought s as place recently with a garage that was converted into a living room. We plan to build a bar in it soon. Parking is now a carport.

I remember when I was a kid(long time ago) many people would sit just in their garage or driveway
and just watch people walk by while sipping the drink of choice. Of course that was when there were only 3 tv channels,no internet and a lot of places with no central air.

Edit: Party line phones back then so you did not talk anything personal as the neighbor could be listening in. People spoke face to face because they had to back then. Sometimes it was in the garage or driveway.

Sons place in St Pete the garage was made into a master bedroom and huge bath/shower.
Place was so small they added a living room and sun room in the back

Mostly storage for my next garage sale. It is beyond time to sell stuff. We have 7 bikes that need to be sold.

About a year ago we went from our small Beaverdale (Des Moines) home (i.e. narrow house, narrow halls, one-car garage) … to a new house with a 3-car garage … Talk about a game changer! Ha!

I'm not a handy person whatsoever … so no building - of anything (sadly, I don't have those genes)… We are happy to now be able to park both cars in a garage …

In general, we don't have a lot of "stuff" … prefer things clean and simple … Our garage has our cars, bikes, lawn mower, and a few other yard-related tools, etc …

I've been working out in my garage when gyms shut down and I store stuff in it, but I've never just hung out there. In Tennessee, it's usually either too hot or too cold 8-9 months out of the year.

I have a small work shop in ours and sometimes I pop a squat and watch some TV.

since it’s attached and insulated it stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

People actually hang out in their garages? That's one step above trailer park trash sitting outside on their couches.

I hang out in my garage :(

I guess I am one step above trailer park trash  At the end of the night when the wife (no pic) and kids are in bed, I usually sit in my lawn chair in the garage with the door open. Dog is at my feet, I drink a couple beers and enjoy the serenity. 2 nights ago we had a strong thunderstorm move through while I was sitting there...it was fantastic.

Wife's car, my car, and my pickup,.. plus yard related equipment & tools....

You need a setup like this for those hot summer nights

My garage is totally finished, 50 inch TV hanging on the wall. Fridge. Stereo. Hawkeye and Cubs flags on the wall with my vintage neon Pabst sign. My garage is part bar, part lawn equipment storage/workshop, part hockey training center with a shooting pad and shooting tarp, part place to sometimes park a car.

We practically live in the garage as the most used room in the house in the spring, summer, and fall. During these corona times it has also become hub central for the neighborhood. I have my kids and the rest of the neighborhood kids hanging out in it all day watching Netflix, doing art projects, play-doh, bicycle staging point, etc. so add daycare center to the list.

Some of you guys are missing out and not totally utilizing your space. Now, many people have a similar setup on a back patio. I did at my prior house, tv, fridge, bar, hot tub, but this neighborhood is more front yard and garage centric. Everybody is out front every night in the summer and it's almost a nightly block party.

Pimp out your garage. You might enjoy it.

Big garage. 3 cars, fridge, freezer, work bench, flat screen, couch, stereo. Heated so I can hang out 9-10 months a year but no A/C

Park cars and some storage. There was no option for that. What kind of mouth breather has a garage yet parks their cars outside?

One with a small 2-car garage, 2 SUVs, and tons of bikes, sports equipment, yard stuff, a snow blower, etc. We can get one SUV in if we want to, but we currently have 1/2 of the garage set up with a hitting net for baseball if that ever happens this summer. Also, remote start is nice and makes it better. I will say that not having a third stall is something I hate and will always hate about our house. But, it has a lot of other things going for it and after putting in a pool and the concomitant landscaping, we're not going anywhere.

I just had a conversation about this with the GF (no pics). This seems to be a regional thing. I grew up in DSM (EASTSIDE!!!!). It seem that people in the south/people without basements use their garage for storage and/or a place to hang out/man cave/watch sports. Everyone I know with a basement uses the garage for auto parking, lawn care equipment and perhaps a workbench.

I think using your garage for storage with shit piled high is SUPER trashy.

EDIT: My house was built in 1962 and I have a 2 car attached. It's a small 2 car. I park in there and it's where the house has the washer/dryer hookups. So my GF (no pics) parks in the drive and we (read: she) use the remaining space for laundry. I have a small amount of Harvey shit stored in there but I am aiming to clean that stuff out in the next few months.

Who uses a garage to put cars in when you can use as a storage container for all the crap we have? I’ve seen some pretty unbelievable things with people and their garages in the south. Either stacked from floor to ceiling w/ crap, or cars parked in them w/ wall mount storage, to outdoor living rooms with tv, cabinets and counter tops with storage, fridge, freezer, and bar so guys can hang there instead of in the house. I just park cars in the three car garage to avoid the weather.

Yep, smoke a cigar or maybe a little herb, the rest of the family is clueless.

Vintage motorcycles. We park in the driveway or street with the everyday.
