Wait a minute, what about all those free breakfast you talk about at motels?

If I'm at a hotel that has free breakfast (think Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, etc.), I usually skip it (but I always get a glass of milk).

Higher-end Hilton brands have a "food and beverage credit" for Gold and Diamond members now days, you can use that for food and drink any time of day.

Elite status gives you a free breakfast at higher-end Marriott brands, but usually only a continental breakfast, so I may or may not skip that.

Curiously, nothing is free at the REALLY upper end of Marriott's brands (Ritz-Carlton, EDITION, etc.).

Light breakfast, usually a bowl of cereal and coffee.
Lunch is a heathy, fruit oriented smoothie.
Dinner--well this can be anything and everything, but it's a biggie.

Plus, I graze on snacks all day long. And then I complain about being 20 lbs. overweight. The problem is, I love to eat, especially after moving down here to SW Florida. We eat out twice a week, on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, at a minimum. Frankly, I can't generate the willpower to do anything about it.
There’s a saying that a lot of people in the know use and it’s “Eat like a king at breakfast, a prince at lunch, and a peasant at dinner”.
Front load your calories earlier in the day and try not to eat after 7 PM. You’ll burn the early calories and taper off as the day goes on.
I just had my dinner which was a bowl of homemade chicken soup - used up the rotisserie chicken I bought on Thursday and added low sodium chicken broth with a bunch of veggies and simmered for a few hours.
I confess I will also have a SMALL bowl of ice cream though. 😋

I was asking about your claim that you just ate dinner

How many grams of protein are you putting in a day?
Not sure.
Some cheese
Maybe 2-3 ounces of ham in salad
Maybe 6 ounces of chicken at nite
Chili w burger & beans maybe once a week
Eggs on Sunday.
Not a morning eater
Usually lunch (big salad around 1 pm
Then late snack around 9-10.
Not good pattern but if I eat earlier I tend to eat more calories thru the day.

As a comparison I put in right around 100g of protein a day. Weight fluctuations between 170-176 5’9 sitting at 10% body fat 32.5” waist. I used to not want to eat in the am also. But now I put in close to 40g of protein in the morning. I don’t count calories as I don’t feel it’s necessary as long as the food is somewhat clean and I portion control. 3 meals a day with a mid morning snack and a dessert which usually consists of a barbell bar or a quest cookie. It is hard at first to switch up the routine but it only takes a couple weeks to find the groove. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. I work out 5-6 days a week which includes core exercises stretching pushups and bands. Work in construction so majority of the day is physicalish. Now again, that is me comparing myself to you. We all know that everyone is different so what works for me might not work for you exactly. I do believe though the 2 biggest things I have going for me is the protein intake and portion control. Followed by the core workouts. Having a strong core has allowed me to still do the work at the pace I can for being 48
