I think it was a legit concern, I am undecided as to whether it was trivial in consequences or the amount of time and effort and money put into it to prevent bad things from happening just worked. That's the problem with these things, the only way people would notice was if everything bad happened. It's like the people who want to play chicken with nuclear weapons. If you screw it up, nobody will be left around to say "I told you so".
