I agree, people can see you ran and hid, refusing to answer important questions. How do you define "personal autonomy" if we don't first define what a person is? Seriously, you didn't even come close to hitting the target. Tell you what. Brush up on your argument, do more thinking about it, do some research, whatever it takes, just so you can form an articulate, rational argument the next time we have an argument about abortion. By that time maybe you'll learn the meaning of the words functionalism and inherently, because until you understand those terms, it's not really worth discussing the issue with you.

"Hey look over there!" In case you missed it, this isn't an abortion thread. A gay guy is schooling you on sports. Let that sink in.

American folk hero and bank robber said it best when asked why he kept robbing banks...."Because that is where the money is.

The same goes for taxes.......Hell yes, tax them! (Because they have the money.)
So the rich, who control the fedgov, will tax themselves into oblivion? I don't see it happening.

With your position, the onus to provide facts is squarely on you.
Over $$$1 billion spent on the last Prez race. Should tell you all you need to know. That didn't come from the plumbers union. Congress is a millionaires club. Who got the bailout in 2008? The Fed gave out $500 Billion w/o Congressional approval. The Fed was also created by the Morgans, Rockefellers, Warburgs and Rothschilds. The CIA was founded by wealthy Skull & Bonesman from Yale. Goldman Sachs has run the Treasury Dept for how many administrations now? But, you keep clinging to that naive idea that the rich do not control our government. It's cute.

I stumbled across an article that included this Gallop Poll question:

So what would your answer be? Obviously the "heavy" part of "heavy taxes on the rich" is problematic. How heavy? You'll just have to wing it. I would suggest thinking of is as noticeably more than current rates, but how much more is up to you. Even a lefty like me doesn't support outrageous top rates. Laffer has suggested a top rate in the 48-49% range is probably the tipping point on the famous Laffer curve. So probably no higher than that. Although I suspect we could easily go higher on the top 0.1%.
I got an idea, tax'em all let God sort'em out.
