Is there a way to shut off the pop up ad that comes on loud as crap every time I get on the site? It does not work very well in my workplace.

Is there a way to shut off the pop up ad that comes on loud as crap every time I get on the site? It does not work very well in my workplace.

I use Google Chrome and added a popup blocker extention...I never even know which sites have popups anymore.
