Portal Impacts to College Athletics

I was no Deion fan during his playing days, but somehow I’m hooked on what he’s doing in coaching. I’m not quite sold on portal success saving rhe day in wrestling, though. We’d have been on top if that were the case.
Of course, PSU finally got serious about the portal just this offseason, so the analysis is about to go south.

It is very bad for college sports as time will clearly show and as Deion already alluded to. There will be the "haves and have nots!" Now before the great brains of the board chime in. YES it was already like that but now is much worse as you clearly already see.
Many kids who have any kind of success at a "small" school, will look to transfer. Sadly big time wrestlers(other athletes) who may have brought in some fans and attracted other possible recruits, are out the door following the $$$$
Good for the kid, bad for the have nots!!! Deion has already said and already gone after kids who as he put it. Knows what you are getting instead of taking a bigger risk. If IOWA WRESTLING or any other program in any other sport can make it clear that, they will pay you top dollar, then it is off to the races!!!
Clearly Deion is setting that up at Colorado. He has had all sorts of money people in the stadium, and who knows what kind of "talks" have taken place? It worked wonders at good ol F*** st where FAT money man gave the great Faleure a nice slush fund! Can not wait to see what happens next in Colorado but they already had video of his son the QB driving a Maybach with all the gear on!!!

Yeah, it’s like a close relative is rich or something and could afford to buy him a luxury car. Definitely fishy.

So what’s your beef? I’m not picking up the link between Deion’s kid being rich and Iowa wrestling becoming a ‘have not’.
No "beef" just stating the facts. IOWA Wrestling is in the HAVEs section, but it will take continued money to stay there. Any super wealthy donor could throw money at a college program of their choice and make it a top team within years. I believe this will happen at Colorado. My thoughts are you will see big money thrown into the program and a new level of stupidity taking place when it comes to transfers and $$$$!
There are currently no caps, limits, restrictions, nothing to stop anyone from "buying" titles!!! Two years ago, one of the Lax teams in the NCAA finals had EIGHTEEN transfers or there about. Ten men on the field in Lax. Can not even guess what will happen in Basketball where there is plenty of money potential to be made and only a need for a small number of top men to win!
The influence of $$$ in sports definitely makes them less fun to follow, we can probably agree on that.
The $$$ influence was always there; at least the athletes are getting a small piece of the pie because the universities and conferences are making out like bandits.
Oh, don’t get me going on “conferences”. With all the wheelin & deelin going on now, the whole concept should just be scrapped. It’s enough with the conferences already. No more conferences.

Is the 'Faleure' another play on the Cael/Carl/Cale thing? You can hate the guy, but unfortunately he's not really failing at anything.
Winner winner, give him a "SeeGarrr" Listen, you can stroke the great Faleure all you wish to, but please keep it real!!!
I have pointed it out many times, you want to give the guy credit for something? Then give hime credit for finding some fat guy with $$$$ and a school with a compliance dept that would look the other way so he could run is scam. He did that, and I give him credit.
Pointing to him as a great coach though??? Well most will quickly chime in with, "recruiting is part of coaching." OK, well which coaches would not have done at least as good as his results if not better with the unbalanced field?
Very easy to see that good ol Faleure at F*** st added more top recruits then maybe the next FIVE TEAMS COMBINED!!! The fact that IOWA beat them 2 years in a row, and several times in duals, well THAT IS what everyone should be pointing to!!!
So yea OK stroke him all you want, had 2Xs as many top guys under perform as he did excel.
OH, if you are going to respond? Do so with all the F*** st recruits over his tenure and we will discuss it. We can start with 125 to make it easy!!!
