Positive Regarding Brian Ferentz

I guess one positive we can take from this season is that we won eight games with a very average defense. Can we imagine the carnage of pairing this 2024 defense with a Brian Ferentz led offense and a non Big Ten West schedule?!? It’s a big positive we didn’t have to see that happen!

I feel bad for the Maryland fans...

Without BF in 2023:
Offense rank #53, 29.7 points per game

With BF this season:
Offense rank #101, 23.7 points per game

Obviously he is not their OC, but why would you even hire him as an Offensive Analyst!?!?!?

Running game was improved but passing is still broken with a Northwestern hand me down qb, watching some of these bowl games if Iowa does not get some major portal contributors the passing game will be the same next year. Call Koc of the Vikes for some advice as he seems to be a qb whisperer

We need receivers also.

Not buying it. The second half was entirely on the coaches. They shut down and played not to lose. Missouri made adjustments at half and Iowa made adjustments by going into a shell.
Kirk just sits back and hopes the other team makes a mistake.

What was the pre-game statement from one of our media guys....Kirk was quoted as saying (to Brenden Sullivan) something along the lines of "Don't try to do too much out there. Let the team win it for you."

He has his players going into a shell even before the game starts.

The long ball was not his friend, but he could stand in the pocket, go through progressions, and throw darts through tight windows. That's what every high quality QB can do. That's what Sullivan hasn't done.
Including, all while having defenders draped all over him. He was our Ben Rothlesberger. Now don’t y’all get your panties in a wad. I’m not saying he was as good as Big Ben.

Also, I appreciated his sneaks as well as his bull horns he’d make running down field after completions. You could tell he wanted it. And wanted to keep trying to pound down field.

Definitely under appreciated and, by his own admission, under coached, at IOWA.
