Uhhh yeah. Sounds like we need to change Alex's nickname to the Bull-y. Sure he is bigger, but it's still a huge positive to see that level of success before joining a room full time.
Well that was a very informative podcast. All these weight class questions for next year seemed to get answered pretty easily.

Meyer will be 74. I have said a few times on here Holloway is huge. I really like his potential this year if his gas tank comes around.
I don't see Meyer at 174 and if he is he will struggle. Of course Holloway is going to look huge, he has that kind of build. If he is over 220 then him making 197 and performing well could be an issue sometime here. His gas tank has not been the most solid part of his game already. Goblin stated Meyer was getting big, that works for me. The fact a guy who was 174 last year looks smaller than a 197 from last year is to be expected and tells me nothing right now. We are 6 months away from next season still. Holloway may be the guy but an eyeball test at this point in the off season does not solidify anything for me. Brooks or Meyer could still be 197 IMO.
I think you can rule out Meyer at 197 based on where he is wrestling this weekend.
220 in the off season hardly seems like the beginning of a potential issue for Holloway. What I took away from IA Wrestle is Meyer is noticeably smaller and doesn't appear to be trying to catch up to the true 197. I could be wrong and I would have to go back and listen to remember the full context of what was said.
Just my take on what was said.
Hmmm...I guess I would expect a 197 pounder to be in that range during the offseason but I'm no expert.
Maybe I need to listen to the podcast again, but I didn't hear where they said Holloway was handling Wilcke. I heard him say they were having some really good scraps and Holloway looks big. I think in the big picture it is best for Wilcke and the team for him to stay at 184 and step in after Sammy leaves rather then trying to be an undersized 197 for a year and then drop back to 184.
This is correct. I believe what I said was to the effect of (around the 17 minute mark if you want to listen for yourself): Wilcke is a little undersized. I am not saying he can't go with Holloway, they had some good live scraps. But Holloway is the best fit for the weight size-wise.
The biggest thing I was trying to convey is that Holloway is the only guy in the room that looks like a true 197.
I like guys that look like true 197 lbers. A lot. I'd like it even more if there were two of them!
