Powerful look at reality in this world…

Sobering…and very accurate
I should not have, but I actually watched a bit of that. It makes me sad because I imagine that it does seem accurate to some people. But those people are sad, depressed, have a lot of terrible in their lives and probably feel invisible.

That does not describe me. So I do not find it very accurate at all.

OP, I am sorry you feel this way. Maybe try a dating app, find a different job, get a hobby, go to church, take your mom out for dinner, find or something. There are a lot of wonderful things in this world that can bring people happiness. And if nothing seems to work, I would recommend therapy. They can help a lot. I hope you find your something soon. God bless.

Hey man, it’s just reality 😂
For the far majority of people it is reality. Many slave away at jobs they hate , constantly going from one pursuit to another looking for happiness.
If you choose to ignore it it’s your prerogative, but for a VAST majority this is what the world is like. Take a minute to focus on the big picture.
I get it, all you millionaires on here can poke fun at this , but lots of people out there who stop to think seriously know there is a lot of truth to this .

lol well I never said it was me .
I just know what the vast majority of the world is like. I try to see the big picture not just the Disneyland existence we enjoy in this country

Lol yes, us not watching a video that starts with a pic of rats in a subway posted by "Illuminatibot" is stupid. You got us. We're the dumb ones here.
Not calling anyone stupid, especially you McLovin since you know it all 😉

So… you personally do not find it accurate, then? You just feel like it’s probably accurate for some people?

The Town Mouse & the Country Mouse

the-town-mouse-and-the-country-mouse.jpg

A Town Mouse once visited a relative who lived in the country. For lunch the Country Mouse served wheat stalks, roots, and acorns, with a dash of cold water for drink. The Town Mouse ate very sparingly, nibbling a little of this and a little of that, and by her manner making it very plain that she ate the simple food only to be polite.

After the meal the friends had a long talk, or rather the Town Mouse talked about her life in the city while the Country Mouse listened. They then went to bed in a cozy nest in the hedgerow and slept in quiet and comfort until morning. In her sleep the Country Mouse dreamed she was a Town Mouse with all the luxuries and delights of city life that her friend had described for her. So the next day when the Town Mouse asked the Country Mouse to go home with her to the city, she gladly said yes.

When they reached the mansion in which the Town Mouse lived, they found on the table in the dining room the leavings of a very fine banquet. There were sweetmeats and jellies, pastries, delicious cheeses, indeed, the most tempting foods that a Mouse can imagine. But just as the Country Mouse was about to nibble a dainty bit of pastry, she heard a Cat mew loudly and scratch at the door. In great fear the Mice scurried to a hiding place, where they lay quite still for a long time, hardly daring to breathe. When at last they ventured back to the feast, the door opened suddenly and in came the servants to clear the table, followed by the House Dog.

The Country Mouse stopped in the Town Mouse's den only long enough to pick up her carpet bag and umbrella.

"You may have luxuries and dainties that I have not," she said as she hurried away, "but I prefer my plain food and simple life in the country with the peace and security that go with it."

I prefer to be the Country Mouse

Moral of the story?

Don’t get pussy whipped and you too can enjoy “luxuries and dainties.”

I work pay check to paycheck like the vast majority of people. I get you old rich guys can sit around and post all day and not care one damn bit about any of it as long as it doesn’t affect you.
It’s very easy to see how people get caught up in that cycle of chasing happiness in money, material things, alcohol, drugs, etc… it’s sad actually . Makes me think about how much of a struggle it all is. Just to make it day to day .
But it makes me very thankful for what I do have. Live simply, no debt, have happy kids, and family life.
But again the message is accurate for many in the world , not all of it of course, but many people I bet could relate .

To be serious for a moment, of course it is relatable. But again, there are ways to find and make meaning in the world even despite lack of material wealth. People have it in their own power to achieve happiness.

Agreed. My point in posting was that it’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of happiness by thinking money , possessions , or pleasure pursuits brings any lasting happiness. Sure it’s nice to have some nice things , enjoy life, but at what cost? Are we missing out on what’s really important by being slaves to the system ?

If you live simply and have no debt, how in the hell are you living paycheck to paycheck? Are you a minimum wage earner?
Well maybe not quite paycheck to paycheck but the gist of it is I don't have thousands of dollars sitting around to blow on unnecessary things.
But you do realize that outside of this country millions are in poverty, making a dollar a day or less?
You're missing the point. Just see the message as a whole.
Even for those who have a lot they are in a way enslaved to their work to pay for it. Very few people are able to just coast thru life. It's tough for most people. If you can't see the message for what it is I don't know what to tell you.
