I was having this conversation with someone. I actually came up with this list that just looks goofy to me. Like many have mentioned there are few elite reams and most teams can beat everyone in the conference.

Take a shot, what do you think?

Mine:
1. Purdue
2. Wisconsin
3. Indiana
4. Northwestern
5. Michigan St.
6. Maryland
7. Iowa
8. Ohio St.
9. Penn St.
10. Michigan
11. Illinois
12. Minnesota
13. Rutgers
14. Nebraska

Wisconsin
Indiana
Purdue
Northwestern
Minnesota
Michigan
MSU
Iowa
Maryland
OSU
IL
Nebraska
Penn State
Rutgers

I won't believe Pitino can keep it together until I see it.

Indiana
Wisconsin
Purdue
Mich St.
Michigan
Iowa
Maryland
Northwestern
OSU
IL
PSU
Minn
Neb
Rutgers

I thought the same Dan. I didn't think I would have them that far down but I just believed in other teams/coaches more. They didn't look great tonight.

Some arrangement of indy-pu-wisky will be the top three.
Iowa goes 8-10, puts them in about the 8th spot.

Wisconsin
Indiana - identical records for first.
Purdont
Maryland it's tough after the top 3
Michigan
Michigan state
Northwestern
Iowa
Ohio state
Minnesota
Illinois
Rutgers
State penn
Nebraska

6 or 7 make the tourney depending on big ten tourney but most likely 6.

an Illinoise fan on Hawkeye Report has Illinoise 5 Iowa 10 and Northwestern one step ahead of us...that's about right. Illinoise has played decent but lost both games against Top25 ranked teams...and they don't exactly start out with an easy B1G schedule...oh there is also the Groce factor.

Other than Indiana, Wisc & Purdue its a crap shoot.
I actually think Purdue is beatable...especially if you can run on them.

Northwestern is no push over..this could be their NCAA Tourney year.

As we all know the unbalanced B1G schedule has a lot to do with wins...why football can go West & East and basketball does not is remarkably stupid IMO.

I agree with your tier system. Iowa being most likely in that 3rd group.
If they could somehow make it into the second group that would be a really solid performance from this team.
