Really liked how he started the game with it dialed back a bit and then, turned the speed on in spurts, mostly off of his defense. He was much more under control early. Yes, this was not a good team they played, but positive steps none the less.....JT brings that jet like burst of speed with the ball that no one else on the team can match. What he will have to continue to work on is regulating that enough to stay under control.
I fully expect him to progress on both ends over the course of the season, but doubt that it will be steady.
Toussaint needs to learn change of speed/pace more than anything. He is fast but teams can adapt to that. If he learns to vary his speed so that teams can't predict what he will do, he will have his way with them.Really liked how he started the game with it dialed back a bit and then, turned the speed on in spurts, mostly off of his defense. real simple dribble ball up throw it to Joey and Cj and play defense.
What’s Garza, chopped liver?
I get this. It has nothing to do with the points he’ll score. Yes, Garza, JW, CJ, CM, RK, BK, CP each have their greater or lesser significant importance to where the team is right now. But with his particular talents as a freshman, JT has the highest potential contribution growth curve (over the next two months) on the team in areas where the team is weakest: penetration and defense.will be the largest factor in whether we dance or not this year.
I was at the game. It looked like he was looking right and just whipped it no-look past about 3 defenders to CJ. Amazing pass. His inbound pass under the hoop to CJ at the top of the key for three was nice. I don’t think the camera angle did it justice.
Seems to hit his FTs. We have other guys who don’t. Last two games have not been good at the line.If Toussaint doesn’t turn the ball over and can hit FTs he'll be a huge asset.

I want him to stop forcing himself into bad situations and wasting possessions. A couple times yesterday he drove with nowhere to go and just threw the ball up in the area of the hoop. That might as well be a turnover.
If he can drive to pull the D in and pass to a shooter first, while taking a shot only if the D doesn’t collapse on him, he can be much more effective.
I love his defense and many aspects of his game. But he’s young and needs to learn to value each possession because in the Big Ten the other teams won’t be wasting them.
I think his defense is underappreciated, even though everyone recognizes it as his strength. He had 5 steals and 2 turnovers against Kennesaw. He got one loose ball in particular that he had absolutely no business getting to ahead of he Kennesaw player. His quickness is such a game changer on defense, I'm willing to put up with some bad choices on offense until he gets experience.
Once he gets locked in and under control, watch out. Along with dropping dimes, he'll be sure to draw fouls and get more layup opportunities..I think that Fran pulling him has a lot to do with trying to get him slowed down and locked in

Then why were players wearing the hideous black shoes? Also, anyone else notice the team issued white shoes last night? I wonder if Fran told him he wear those until he earns wearing the funky ones by not slipping and falling all of the time like happened in Chicago.
I meant on Joe T.Then why were players wearing the hideous black shoes?
