Principal arrested on child pornography charges

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) - A middle school principal in Texas has been arrested on child pornography charges.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began after a student received a social media video believed to have been sent by the principal and reported it to authorities.

When investigators confronted the principal, they said they found child pornography on his cell phone.

Hardin Junior High School principal Chad Barrett was arrested on Thursday and faces felony charges related to the possession and promotion of child pornography.


The school district said he has been removed from school property and is on administrative leave.
