"Professor Muscle" resigns from "courtesy post" with Mizzou Journalism School

I supposed they wouldn't have to be inherently, but all of the types of protests we are contemplating here are indeed community actions to display anger.

I'd hardly consider them to be action.

Semantics I'm sure but I consider action to be personally doing something about a problem. Protests are just a way of saying "someone should do something about this problem"

Again I'm not trying to make a negative judgement on protests here. If a criminal receives a light sentence for example a protest with the community saying "Someone should do something about this problem" would be far better then a community action which would be vigilantism.

And some problems are so big that they need both community action and people out there saying that someone else (most often the government) needs to act. I'm not a believer that poverty can be solved solely through charity.

But I think a community display of anger is different from a community action. And again I'm not trying to judge because I think it depends on the situation. Sometimes displaying anger is better then action, sometimes the reverse, and sometimes both are needed. I think it is important to know which one is required.

However safe to say I think overall Conservatives put less stock in community displays of anger then liberals.

We disagree. I think leading on an issue, marketing, voting, reporting are all types of action.

Yes. Only after he realized that he would be the next target. Wolfe actually tried to fire the chancellor months ago. The chancellor covered his ass and saved his job.
Nixon resigned for much the same reason. Didn't he? And "resigned" is "resigned", right? MU can start anew. Maybe they can reach out to Terry Branstad and Bruce Rastetter to find find the process to find new leaders for their MU system.

I agree that the President should have resigned, too. He screwed the pooch big time. He knows it. The prof ...she resigned and good riddance. What's all the hub-bub, bub?
She didn't resign from her job, she resigned from a worthless volunteer comittee.

This is precisely how I pictured her.

Can you not read? Or are you just that dense?

University president doesn't do enough to speak out against a few random acts of racism and he's forced to resign. Communication prof shown asking for muscle to stifle a member of the press from being in a public place and she resigns from a volunteer committee post.
More evidence we are living in bizzaro world.

It's just that good ole progressive liberal hypocrisy in action.Comrade!

We let the extremists in our ranks live out in tents so their parents get a relief from housing them in their basement. That, and once the storms come in they realize they're might actually be better ways to affect change than pitching a tent, making a sign, and acting like bullies.
