There should be open tryouts on campus starting tomorrow. It is killing our field position. I'll bet there are at least 10 guys (or girls for that matter) on campus right now that are better than what we are running out there. It's beyond pathetic.

How the hell did Kirk not recruit a punter?

Iowa kicker and punter scholarship recruiting over the past 7-8 years has been brutal. Scholarships given to guys like Mossbrucker, Ellis, Mullings and Kornbrath out of high school. Walk-ons have been exponentially better but they've wiffed the last few years. They got really lucky with Coluzzi last year or we would have seen this poor punting display much earlier

10 points...you can reasonably state those 10 points are on our punting game considering they followed punts to our 31 and 36 if my memory is good.

The defense has kept Iowa in games, but you can't constantly have them starting from their own 35-50 which has happened way too much this year.

There only appears to be one other punter on the roster. A freshman I've never heard of and at this point I say why the hell not, let him kick a few.
