Purina Davenport sets production record; company donates 500,000 tons of pet food to celebrate

Nestlé Purina’s Davenport factory has reached a global company record, producing enough pet food to feed 10 million dogs and cats a year. The company is celebrating by giving back to the Quad Cities and donating 500,000 tons of pet food throughout the year to support local and regional animal shelters, rescues, service dog organizations and law enforcement K9 units.

“This milestone is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our team,” said Will Steiner, the new factory manager at Purina Davenport. “We take great pride in delivering high-quality nutrition to pets and this achievement underscores our passion for excellence. As a partner to the community, there’s no better way to celebrate than giving back to the place our factory and our associates call home. It’s an honor to give back and feed our community’s pets nutritious Purina products we craft right here in the Quad Cities.” Over 530 associates work at the Davenport factory.

The Purina Davenport factory opened in 1927 and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality, nutritious pet care products, including Alpo, Beneful, Cat Chow, Dog Chow, Friskies, ONE and Pro Plan. Over the past five years, Purina has invested more than $90 million in the Davenport facility to continue to deliver innovative pet care products.
