One of Iowa's incoming recruits had a serious knee injury. How does that work if you are the recruit - Can Iowa pay for the ACL surgery and rehabilitation? Can Iowa suggest a surgeon for the recruit? Does it matter if the recruit has signed his LOI? Thanks.

Pretty interesting question. I wouldn't think Iowa would be able to do anything other then advise until he gets into the program.

Does the University pay for things like surgery for scholarship athletes? I've never thought about that.

Blair/Tom had an interview with Cordell Pemsl with fall and he said Fran & Co. suggested a surgeon for his latest knee operation, so I would imagine Kirk & Co. could do the same for McKnight.

Yes. Student athletes are covered under "student athlete insurance".

When I got an ambulance ride during a scrimmage in college my insurance paid what it would and then NCAA insurance paid the difference. But that wasn't D1, so I'm not sure if it's the same.
