I have a question for debate. The opposing team is punting well within the range of their punter to put it into the end zone to avoid a potential return. So the punter is trying to punt it high and get their gunners in a position to get behind the punt returner such that if he lets it drop, they can cover it before it goes into the end zone for a touchback. The chances of a punt return in this situation are extremely low and so why does our coaching staff instruct a guy to block the opponent anywhere close to the 10 yard line?

You're assuming Beyer did what he was instructed to do....
You bring up a good debate. Are young people making mistakes in critical situations because they are naturally prone, or has this staff not properly prepared and drilled them on what to do in various football scenarios?
