OK, I'll take the heat. But I can't help but wonder if Nate is up to the task of leading this ream. I'm not saying he stinks or anything close to that, but I am disappointed with what I've seen this season. We're 16-17 starts into his tenure and I haven't really seen any improvement in touch, accuracy or crunch-time performance. No doubt he's got a strong arm, yet he's seems even less mobile than before.

I'm not advocating a change. I was just hoping to see more polish and poise.

He has not progressed IMO. He still makes the same mistakes and now is afraid to throw the ball down the field. It is the standard QB regression that Iowa has had in the past. KF seemingly coaches QB to not lose the game. This is just my opinion also but Iowa needs to throw the ball down the field more but Stanley seems scared to do so.

So that 40 yard bomb to TJ doesn't count. Ok sounds good to me too........

He threw the ball down the field like 3 or 4 times tonight and connected on them twice. I'm not sure what you are talking about here.

No! No! You're not allowed to do that. He's young or something like that.

Stanley definitely not in the Top 3 things to worry about from tonight.

1. Special Teams
2. First half playcalling
3. WR’s

And it worked, right?? So why not take more shots then? Iowa could throw the ball deep much more often and really make the defense spread out but yet they don't -- why is that?

He's fine.
Some people want to see more in him than is there so they end up disappointed when he is only as good as he is.
He's the 5th or so best qb in the B1G. That's not too shabby.
With the tools he brings to the game I thought tonight was pretty good for him.

He is what he is. He won't make anybody forget any decent QB we've ever had. Between he and the Ferentz Crew, this what you get.

Did you watch the game or just like posting insane comments? Did you miss the hail Mary heave no he launched downfield that was up for grabs?

Yes watched the game. Have you watched any of the other games this year?? He has open receivers running down the field and doesnt pull the trigger. He makes the "safe" throw a lot. That was one play and I wish he made more of those very plays because the running game and offense would open up a ton if he did.

Stanley is improved from last year. He is putting more air under the ball on deep throws, but he is still a very average QB at best.

Nathan Stanley did everything Nathan Stanley was supposed to do tonight. If anything he was quite impressive. This game doesn't fall on Nathan Stanley at all.
He had a brutal miss that should not happen. Was a massive mistake when it mattered.

That “massive mistake when it mattered” line is starting to become the norm behind the BF experiment.

I’m upset with the game plan for the DL (which is noted on here in other threads) but at some point this offense has to be held accountable. This defense played well enough to dominate this game. Even the two screw ups by special teams this game could have been Iowa by two scores.

At the end of the year the offense is what is going to hold this team back from a 9-10 win season.

He probably gives us our best chance at winning, but he is showing signs of the regression our qbs make the longer they are in the program. They get cautious to the point of tightness and in turn lose the traits that won them the job in the first place.

You people are ****ing morons. Other than the miss on the throw to Hockenson, Stanley played a really good game.
My beef with Stanley is that he takes too long to diagnos and make necessary changes, often resulting in rushed passes. Numerous times tonight, he failed to address the protection holes leading to defenders getting a free run at him or the ball carriers.

Let’s be real. Mr. Stanley was in Wisconsin’s backyard and they passed. If Wisconsin had some dude from Vinton-Shullsburg or say Edgewood-Colesburg and we passed we would be sitting here super smug. Maybe Chryst knows QBs better than KF and BF?

Chryst tried to get Stanley when he was at Pitt and again when he got to Wisconsin. You are an idiot and have no idea what you are talking about.

What did the wrs do wrong tonight? The pick was on Stanley to me. He rifled that ball on a simple 5 yard route.

Brandon Smith made some good catches as did ISM. Easly did fine too.

I’m actually starting to think Iowa has players in place to have a consistent, solid offense. I am really starting to think BF is the weak link.
