I was reading an article on the Big 10 Network site about the QB's in the league. It focused on 8 schools that either had qb injuries or qb's like Lee at Neb. who have been disappointing thus far.
It made me think that of the 6 schools who have had no qb injuries and satisfactory qb performance how would I rank the 6. They are : Barrett, McSorley, Hornibrook, Lewerke, Thorson and Stanley.
I'd rank the 6 based on performance so far this year as:
1. Barrett- Young team and he's carrying them. Great qb stats.
2. McSorley- Beat Iowa in last second to stay unbeaten.
3. Stanley- Would have lost to Ia. St. without his 4th qtr. Great stats.
4.Hornibrook-Great running team.
5.Lewerke- Team with real good defense, mediocre offense. Good game manager, average stats.
6. Thorson- losing team that had high expectations.
I took into consideration their stats, their teams won/loss record and the teams dependence on the qb position to win games. Example, Wisconsin could have anyone at qb to hand off to Taylor so far.

What's your ranking ? It's something to do on a bye week.

I'd put Hornibrook and Lewerke above Stanley. Lewerke can make plays with his legs,Hornibrook is currently occupying Wisconsin's annual QB designation--save Russell Wilson--as "Best QB on Roster That Can Stay Out of Way of RBs"

  1. McSorley
  2. Barret
  3. Stanley
  4. Lewerke

Thorson and Hornibrook are better arms then Lewerke, just throw to many INTs to be ranked above him)

You could make a case for 1 - McSorely/Barret, 3 - Stanley/Lewarke

Agreed but 4,5,6 ? Throw a towel over all three they're that close.

Reactions: Nihilist Rodgers
If Stanley figures out the deep ball and hand strength he's movin on up
If he figures out the deep ball. Sky is the limit for that kid.. especially next year when he is only losing one pass catcher well 2 if you include Wadley.

1. Barrett
2. McSorely
3. Thorson
4. Lewerke
5/6. Stanley/Hornibrook

Nate has trouble in comparison to the others with his relative lack of mobility.

Accuracy on the deep ball is lacking, but that can be improved as can the touch issues occasionally on shorter passes and speeding up decision making in the pocket.

how do you know the coaches are limiting his running? Stanley is just a TRUE SO, I could care less if he never ever runs, he able to move the pocket and keep plays alive with his feet, AND he avoids being sacked.
