Rashida Tiaib

That stupid bitch had a tit job?! 🥩🦃💩💩🤢

She is a piece of Human Garbage
How many Republicans have been asked to criticize Trump regarding his “stolen election”, “stolen secret documents” and his participation in his attempted coup of the government in January of 2021, and they have refused to answer? Kinda the same thing. Are they too, “Pieces of human garbage”?

Nice whataboutism.

These were her comments on Sunday

U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Detroit), the daughter of Palestinian immigrants has been one of the most outspoken critics of Israel. In a statement released Sunday, Tlaib said she grieved the loss of “Palestinian and Israeli lives” but did not mention Hamas, while calling for “ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system.”

“I grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day,” Tlaib said. “I am determined as ever to fight for a just future where everyone can live in peace, without fear and with true freedom, equal rights, and human dignity. The path to that future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.

“The failure to recognize the violent reality of living under siege, occupation, and apartheid makes no one safer,” she said. “No person, no child anywhere should have to suffer or live in fear of violence. We cannot ignore the humanity in each other. As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue.”
Holy shit that's bad. She is blaming Israel for what happened. Sheesh.

I originally was going to echo sl Hawk fans earlier comments about not answering questions yelled at you while you are walking. I don't think that means anything. I wouldn't answer questions like that either. But, these comments are truly deplorable.

But Trump, is always close by to defend terrorists!

I’m walking a fine line in this thread by presenting rationale for Talib and trying to recognize the unique position she’s in with respect to the Israeli/Palestinian situation.

It’s understandable that her views and comments are more sympathetic to the Palestinian’s plight. And prior to this most recent round of violence, there was a decent argument that Israel gave as well as they got with plenty of disproportionate responses. I think Talib’s comments reflect this history.

That said, the brutal and barbaric nature of this attack demands a more specific response from her, I would agree.

But it looks like this when the towel comes off:

Well, she'll have to answer to her constituents I guess. You don't have to agree with her but she is entitled to an opinion and it shouldn't shock anyone that it favors her own heritage. That doesn't make her correct, though. It means you need to take it for what it was. If she starts trying to get legislation to harm the Israelis and help the terrorists, well then that's a more serious problem. At least she isn't harming our military by refusing to allow any new promotions to be confirmed.

Alright, I’ve got no love for Talib, but I’m going to take the contrarian view on this.

The reporter’s first 5 questions were not posed as questions about Hamas and terrorism; she kept repeating an absurd, sensationalized, and so far unsubstantiated claim about babies heads being cut off. It was such an utterly grotesque and ridiculous question that I can understand Talib refusing to play into her game and provide a response. You can see Talib giving her an incredulous look early on in the video and I suspect she made up her mind then and there to not dignify the questions with a response.

And the flag question is a cheap shot. America has plenty of sicko terrorists and a history that includes killing its minority peoples out of hatred and sometimes just for sport; yet I am still supportive of the flag and my country.

Talib is of Palestinian descent and likely still has family in that part of the world. Hamas is absolutely a terrorist organization (or is at least acting like one) but their actions do not make all Palestinians terrorists. I have no problem with Talib showing support for her Palestinian roots by flying the flag.

I suspect and hope that Talib will make a statement about these atrocities but I don’t blame her for ignoring this particular reporter.

Okay. Let me have it.
Dont forget to mention the flag has been out since like February, it's not like she put it out there after the events over the weekend..

That’s kinda the point. Republicans didn’t want anyone pointing out how ridiculously unethical they are so they disbanded the committee.
Why do liberal party hacks have to make everything political. To even mention Republicans in this discussion, shows you are mentally unfit to have an opinion on this topic. If you can't separate slaughtering women and children from politics, you need to take a step back.

She needs to be deported.
Isn’t she an American born citizen?
She’s walking a tightrope because she’s a Black woman in a district with a large number of voters who are of Middle Eastern descent.
I detest her actions but she’s just trying to hold on to her seat.

I can bet you a gazillion dollars, Tlaib is a corruption of Talib, which means student. Add an an to that and you get Taliban, which means a student devoted to the worship of Allah and learning of the Quran, who will do anything and everything to make sure Islamic tenets are adhered to. We, of course, don't give a shit but it's there in plain sight.

Right, I would think that more would care about this constantly, rather than when it's simply convenient for them. How is slow genocide over decades different than over a weekend? Hamas should be completely destroyed for what they've done, no doubt, but do you all really think this is one sided? It seems to me that the level of violence is very uneven, based on the graphic below.

I find it interesting that the only news coverage we see in America is when Israelis are killed, and it's ignored when it's Palestinians. For any idiots (you know who you are) that would like to claim the opposite of me, I strongly condemn any and all action by Hamas and all terrorist organizations, but this conflict and these recent events do not exist in a vacuum.

Rashida Tlaib was born in Detroit to Palestinian immigrants. She is not a black woman, she is middle eastern. Most of her district is white, but does include a smaller portion of Detroit (predominately black), Dearborn (predominantly middle eastern) part of Farmington Hills, redford Township, and all of Livonia (all three predominantly white).

Lastly, the Palestinian flag which Rep. Tlaib displays is not the flag of Hamas. They are profoundly different.

You’re right - I am mistaken about her heritage but I knew she was from a district where she has some very distinct communities to represent.
I lived in the area back in the early 90’s and I do know Dearborn is heavily Arab-American but not all are Muslim. Many are Christian and descendants of immigrants who came when the Brits first carved up the area now known as Palestine.

Was the flag hanging outside of her office before the attacks last weekend?

Yes.

The Palestinian flag has been hanging outside Tlaib's office for several months. In January, near the start of the new congressional term, Tlaib posted a picture of her next to the flag on social media while criticizing the Israeli government

Just looking at those stats you would think the Palestinians would rise up against Hamas. That group has done nothing but use the peaceful Palestinians as human shields after they lob rockets at Israel. It isn’t exactly like Israel will just look the other way.

Yeah you would think. I'm sure it's much more complicated than that, but I would agree.
