Ready for new blood next season....

I think next years team will be fun to watch. They will lose some head scratcher games on the road and also upset some teams.

I am thinking wins in the range of 15-18 and a NIT birth.

Should be more athletic at some spots, but guard play going to be dicey. I like CW, but with no real PT, he is going to have a tall task and I am not going to comment on the fallback offer from Linn-Mar.

Next season...same o, same o. "One player with a cast of average." Three seasons ago Marble led the team to above average with a cast of youngsters. The next year everybody said watch out for White. He proceeded to lead the team to average. Then they said "JU" and he led the team to above average with the same cast around him. 2016-17... I feel sorry for Jok with an average cast around him.

I personally believe Woodbury's defense will be missed more than we think right now, but his offense was so freaking pathetic. Yesterday he grabbed that offensive rebound and then tried to do the reverse layup, and of course he missed it. PERFECT three second summary of his career.

Clemmons' defense will also be missed.

As for Gesell, he was fine bringing the ball up the court, but I think we can replace that.

I'm not at all sold on Dom Uhl though. I just have no clue what he's trying to do when he dribbles, as it seems like there is always an ill-advised spin move or some violent change in direction before he launches a terrible looking shot. His 3-pointers are helpful though.

Agree, I'm excited about 2017 and beyond, next year is just getting a lot of moving parts together and experience for future seasons. Maybe Jok can go all world and they are somehow on the Bubble but I am not expecting it. Short term step back for long term gain.

A post who can get the board and THEN finish is the difference between 10 losses and only a few at this point. Cook, Wagner and others coming in next season will make us better on offense down low instantly.

Offensively yes, but on the other end we are going to be insanely worse son D.

Trying not to add to the doom and gloom here, but I am really interested to see what Moss, Hutton, and Cook can bring to the table. At the very least, we should get some better size and athleticism on the wings and more muscle (hopefully more offense) down low.

Yes, I'm excited for the future and fully expect a step back next yaer but it will be temporary with the future seasons having much higher ceilings than what we have dealt with recently. If they win a tourney game next week great, but just cherry on top at this point.

Another way to look at those around Jok next season... which of the four or five would start for another above average BIG? That plus which ones was Iowa in a bidding war over with another good BIG program?

Ummmm, just from this years class. Tyler cook had interest from just about everyone in the country. Cordell pemsl had interest from Wisconsin and Purdue to name a few. Didn't need to look much further to prove your comment was dumb.
