A lot of "reasons" we SHOULDNT have won. "Stave played bad"?!? Or did D play well? Is king just good..maybe? "We should've taken the FG" ?!? then we don't get pick next series & score 7. We get a bogus PI on 3rd & long on 11 yd line, we get a fumble recovery on -2..wash!! It was windy, new lft tacke, new WR (not much spd on outside), no power back, "impossible environment" & this TEAM pulls it out. Why can't some people be happy w having this kind of TEAM. GO HAWKS!! Keep finding a way.

Don't forget the terrible no call where they were hugging our WR in the endzone...got no points on that drive too. Why doesn't anyone bring that up? But I get your point. 5-0 is 5-0 and good teams just find a way to win...In a season where there is parity all over (just see OSU and Mich St yesterday) we should just be happy to be where we are...Yes there are some concerns, but when Iowa has good seasons we always have games like this...and we usually play like this when we beat Wisconsin.

I'll admit I'm conflicted about how good this team can be because wisconsins offense looked terrible. But I kind of think that's what this years defense is... We're going to force you into mistakes and capitalize.

I also think we decided we're going to make Stave beat us with intermediate throws. Guys ran wide open a quite a few times, but he couldn't make us pay. Great game plan IMO.

Things could always go south...Last year we started 6-2. I'm not saying this team will win 10-11 games but in 2002 it was the Purdue game we looked awful and got lucky, in 2009 it was the Indiana game we looked awful and got lucky...I guess it just goes to show that Iowa has a small margin of error...It's who we are and people tend to forget that when they think of Iowa's 'glory years'. I certainly understand the wait and see approach though. Just no reason to really panic over a win in Madison. :)

2009 wasn't just Indiana game that Iowa looked awful.

Iowa did exactly what they needed to do defensively in order to win. Stop Wisconsin's run game anyway they could and make Stave beat us. He really hadn't been asked to do more than needed outside of a couple key plays the first two times we've faced him and Bucky. Iowa's defense executed their game plan to near-perfection.
Holding Wisconsin to 6 pts on their own turf is pretty darn good.

It is indeed. Well done Hawks.
