Hats off to him for a great job so far this season. His kickoffs are consistently deep and he's been pretty darn solid on FG's.
No doubt, our punting game needs some serious work. Especially for a team that's so limited offensively, you have to have someone who can boom it and flip the field. These days, if we get stopped on our end of the field, the D is almost automatically in a huge hole, and everything snowballs from there.

I'm pretty sure we could switch punters with Wartburg or Luther and not be any worse off.
The kickers from Waverly and Decorah high schools might not be a drop off.
He’s done a helluva job
Recinos has had a leg, but he struggled to score with the few chances he had last year (all from distance). Duncan was ice-vein nails for that kick against Michigan, but it appears Recinos came into the offseason and just beat him for the kicking duties. And he's been doing a great job.

Miguel has been a bright spot. Playing great.
Don't know if true but I was told he averaged around 46 yds per punt in HS.
Same idk bout the yardage but I was told by someone he went too school with he was an excellent punter in HS i didn't want too say it so I just said I bet he could punt

Ask his dad. He posts here. Although I probably wouldn't go near this board before and after game days of my kid played.

Oh yeah. He is our 3rd string punter, actually.
I just reviewed his HS Hudl video, for kicks. He had some great punts, but wasn't conventional in his form. His first punt on the video actually got a standing ovation from the crowd. I'd never seen a crowd do that before, nor have I since.

Seriously, you can't tell me there isn't a student walking around campus that can punt better than what we've gotten so far.

Recinos has been very good. I was shocked to start the year and he had replaced Duncan with his year he had in 16' but think it was the right move. Super strong leg and has honed in his accuracy.
As far as punting goes, wouldnt hurt to let someone else try.
Rastetter hasnt been miss the ball awful, but pretty close for a D1 punter.
