Recinos

Could not be more deserved. Kid has been fantastic. Real bright spot for the season, and the future.

Along with Josh Jackson I can’t think of 2 more improved players from the year before. Congrats for sticking with it and earning it.

I was impressed all year and especially this bowl game to be so accurate on that sheet of glass. It looked like he modified his kick approach because of the field condition and was perfect.

Kid definitely earned a scholarship. Ideally it would be nice if the other scholarship kicker moved on but who knows at this point. I really thought it was smart the way he kicked last night. I think a lot of kickers would try and take the full normal windup. He cut out an entire step and shortened everything up because of the footing

Can he punt?
I believe RCJazz said he has, but thats a lot to ask of him. He's a weapon on kickoffs as well ,so lets have someone else earn their scholly punting. Don't want a weary legged kicker. There's a reason no one does that in college or the pro ranks.

Side note... but I actually like Stanley punting. I remember the days of QB punters like Tom Tupa from OSU. I know he’s doing this without a return guy deep but I kind of wonder if he practiced more if he could not give us 35-40 yards. I also love the idea only being able to throw from a punt formation / situation at any time to keep opponents honest and give them something to worry about.

Cause they are babies?
What does that even mean? You don't see the concern of having both your punter and place kicker, having a weary leg? Yes, I know Iowa's punting was not good this year, but having one guy do all the kickoffs, place kicking and punting is not the answer.

Will Duncan be a transfer now?
Unlikely. Recinos is a senior next year I think and Duncan RS’d I believe so he’ll still be a sophomore next year.

If you’re talking about Duncan, I thought he was a walk on as well.
