So, it's a $100 stocking cap that isn't much good on cold days? Don't take this the wrong way, but with the inevitability that you will wind up passed out in an alleyway some night, I'd suggest you get something a little more heft to it.
Didn't specify what type so here is the warmest one I have. Can't believe how much warmer it is than other ordinary stocking caps......plus it will cost you under twenty bucks.
No hat recommendations but OPs moms muff has gotten me though many cold Midwestern winters.
Don't know how this will work in Iowa in Dec-Jan-Feb, but I've always been really really warm while wearing one....

On the way. However, I ordered in black. The preferred color for gentlemen in Kinnick after dark. Somehow in the melee after the Minnesota win I lost my hat with ear flaps, so I needed a replacement.
