With the Miamen commitment, which is a great get for the Hawks, what are needs and how many more. I have read that 4-5 is the number. If true, who gets them?

I am still hoping Bell is one of the commits but Purdue, Penn State and OSU will be hard to beat.

What about the Williams kid from Merrillville, video looks great. We could probably use one more LBer.

Hawks just offered Randolph (DE) from Bellville. Long offer list but seems really amped about an Iowa offer.

I'm sure there will be at least one late in-state recruit.

I really like this class.

OL - one of the best in the BIG
TE - this is another strong position
Goodson is really good and I really like Hutson at WR, putting up big numbers.
Let's not underestimate Padilla at QB, having a sensational senior season.
LBers we got are really good, Campbell is tearing it up for CF and Jacobs has Will written all over
I like our D-line also but one more DE is needed as Hunt will grow and end up inside. Karsinsky is a high motor guy
Belton was another great pick-up at DB

Will be fun to watch how we close out the class

Had David Baker (wr) in attendance Saturday. Not sure on his interest level at this point. Get a LB, DE and then idk.

Love that Randolph offer. I bet the staff puts the full court on him. Apparently they've moved on from Fox. I agree, they bulk up Hunt and he goes inside. I like the ol guys also. I'd like another wr maybe a juco.

Really enjoy your perspective. With respect to Bell, I think Iowa's main competitor is PSU. tOSU is about full for the class is top end WRs and it still has a couple of St. Louis area WR about ready to commit their way. PSU has two in this class but would take Bell. Purdue flashes a lot of WR bodies but I don't see them as major league competitors and Brohm could be at Louisville very soon. At Iowa, Bell could be the man. Early PT and hopefully, touches.

I was hoping for more from Tyrone Tracy but still happy he is at Iowa. Iowa needs playmaking WRs and a QB that throw down field 25+ yards at least once a quarter.

It's early yet...we still might see TT some more.

Does anyone else after getting excited about offensive recruits coming in get depressed when you realize we still have BF/KF calling plays?

No problem with the play calling from me whatsoever. Execution in the red zone and to's cost us that game. We should have scored 27 at least and that should be plenty enough to beat wiscy. Except for te we still don't have a wealth of talent on offense either.

Forgot Castro who is definitely one of the top 5 guys I’m most excited about coming in next year

Pretty much my perspective too ... we're clearly still looking for a DE and a LB ... and the coaches would love to get Bell (but he's arguably a long-shot). Right now, the "number" is looking to be around 19 or 20 commits. Of course, it's still not clear how attrition is going to look like exiting the '18 season.

Where else will there be need? If the Hawks don't land Bell ... maybe they still try to land an ATH on O? If Jacardia Wright can get his grades in order ... do the Hawks still try to get him? He could project at RB ... but he could potentially project at WR too (versatile athlete). How about the kid from Racine, DaShaun Brown?

I'm wondering if maybe we take another DB? Given how young we're still at CB and given how Brents and Moss are both playing as TR FR ... and given how Castro is a safety and that Belton can project at safety ... perhaps we really are "done" at DB for the recruiting class already.

Offense had over 400 yards against a good defense. Didn't like the QB dive play on 4th down but over all they opened it up. The late interception was off S-M's hands.

Turnovers cost us this game.

And when you consider the 400 yards came on just over 50 plays that was a really impressive day for the offense against a good defense.

I can see them taking another CB. Like you said they definitely want another DE and a LB. They want another WR. I also wouldn't be surprised if they took another athlete. Someone who like you said could either project as a RB or a defender

Dude WTF....thought last week the play calling was pretty impressive. We had 2 special teams turnovers that took two possessions away from the offense and still racked up 400+ yards. The play call on the INT was terrific as well- if he catches that there was room to roam

Yeah the last play call was fine, just a bad throw by Stanley and maybe a bad read by ISM to see where should go, hard to tell but the play was there to be had just didn't execute.

Just a bunch of little things adding up to what happened. Stanley had to unload a little quicker than he liked, put a bit too much on it and ISM didn't get his head around and hands up quick enough.....good read by Stanley and good route recognition by ISM- sometimes things just don't work out

The biggest get in this recruiting class is Ezra Miller.. but I don’t think there ever was a doubt Iowa wouldn’t get him.. it sounds like Goodson had a great visit for the game making his commitment a lock.. is like Iowa to get another wr.
