Refs cost us at least 4 points

Don't hold your breath, doubt that will ever happen under Fran. Three star and a few 4 star players and player development is how Fran rolls. Expect 10 or more losses every year...Iowa will never via for a Big Ten title under Fran.
Big Ten Champions last year. Wtf are you talking about? Who gives a shit about regular season. It’s skewed anyway. Unless you play every team home and home. you’re a champion with a *!

Can't make this shit up.

Yes, my bad Fran or whatever your name is. Winning 4 games in 4 days is defiantly a greater accomplishment then finishing at the top of the 20 game regular season of Big Ten Basketball. I guess that's why Iowa got that 6th seed in last years tournament and Illinois and Wisconsin got higher seeds being co-champions of the Big Ten. What a travesty!

Iowa was the 5 seed in the B1G Tournament and in the NCAA Tournament.

Boy, you are mistaken on a lot of things. Even simple facts.

Iowa complaining about the refs after a loss. At home. Where they shot several more free throws than their opponent.

Never change Iowa fans, never change.
Wisconsin had 4 fouls in the second half with 4 mins to play. For how ‘physical’ Wisconsin plays, that number was far too low.
I despise Wisconsin’s brand of basketball. I’m not sure why anyone would want to play that style. It appears Wahl learned a thing or two from Davidson regarding on how to cheat. Wisconsin is full of those pud whackers. Do they teach dirty play at Wisconsin?

The refs did a decent job except for the hook and hold. I thought replay showed pretty clearly that the wisconsin guy grabbed Connor's arm, extended it, and then flailed. Guys used to do a crapton of that to trick refs into cheap fouls, and even with slow motion video little Larry couldn't see it. Moron.
actually, that didn't meet the criteria of a hook/hold. Connor tried to fight through a pick which caused him to reroute the player he was covering and he extended his arm. The calling official ruled the illegal contact by Connor and knew instantly this didn't fly under the interpretation of hook/hold and the crew would not have reviewed unless 1 of the crew members had a different angle and definite information or a Coach insisted on risking a timeout to do such.. Only because it was a dead ball and Connor talked his Dad into it did it proceed.

But he wasn’t in the cylinder. Rebraca was straight up and down.
you are correct that the O post player tried to back him down(and he did so legally) however once stopped IF there is an attempt by that player to make a normal basketball move such as a pass, the defender then fits in and the definition of a cylinder violation. It's unfortunate but the rule. So this crew cannot blow a whistle after the fact but during a review there are certain plays which they can change foul calls. This is one. Rebraca did nothing wrong other than by rule he violated the cylinder rule so when he took one in the chin the crew has 2 choices and thus the discussion lasting a while. 1) based on the ruling they would have HAD to call a cylinder foul by rule because it can't be an F1 unless intentional OR 2) they call a common foul and it saves the crew from having to toss Fran. This was a decision that did no harm to either team and a good choice.

What dirty play? You people are delusional. Go back to eye pokes. You were good at that.

Yeah, I'll admit I was wrong with Iowa's seeding in last years tournament, and it probably ended up as a reason Iowa lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Winning the four day Big Ten Tournament at the end of the season was super exciting but it's pale to winning the regular season title. If that event ends up as Fran's greatest achievement at Iowa, in my mind it only ranks him slightly ahead of Stevie Alford's accomplishments which is nothing to brag about. I can only hope next years recruited players can add to an Iowa roster that can end that 44 year drought of not winning the BIG TEN REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP!
It's not going to be this year....

As per usual in b10 play we got two differently officiated halves. Wisconsin had multiple guys in foul trouble in the first half, and then tk somehow only have 4 fouls deep into the 2nd half in the rugged b10 is absurd.

I also liked how the Wisconsin player initiated contact. Didn’t really think it was a hook and hold but for how the 2nd half was officiated that was a soft fouls.

A regular season title would be nice but honestly it doesn’t mean as much to me anymore with the unbalanced schedule. 20 game marathon, with the right home and homes, right home/road splits matters more for that. It meant more when it was a true round Robin.

I didn’t even think the refs were that bad

Wisconsin beat us because they have size on the Hawks and we couldn’t make up for it with our shooting. Crowl and Wahl got points all day in the paint because they’re bigger than Connor and Filip. On the other hand, Iowa shot a ton of terrible threes, and Sandfort was the worst offender of all. He needs to start taking better shots within the flow of the offense instead of just jacking em up. He did have a few good looks that he needs to take - the floater on the out of bounds play, the corner three of Connor’s baseline feed, and the pull-up in the second half - more of those and less hoisting with guys in his face

Crowl is 7’ but Wahl is only 6’9” so no they didn’t have a tremendous size advantage on Iowa.

As is usual with b10 officiating, what irritates me is the lack of consistency. They called a tight game, albeit with several soft calls both ways in the first half (as mentioned above, Wisconsin had major foul trouble), but in the 2nd half they swallowed their whistles, with neither team getting into the bonus until deep in the second half. Fran got mad because they had a stretch where they were letting contact go on Wisconsin guards but then called touch fouls on Perkins or other Iowa guards - I mentioned before even the announcers mentioned several times during the game that on multiple occasions they didn’t think something was much to call a foul for; both ways.
