Don't see a lot of "sure wins" on the schedule after yesterday. What say you?

AND...who are the wins? Not a lot of confidence in any past Troy and maybe Purdue

I said 7-5 before yesterday and I saw nothing to make me change my mind.

I said 7–5, with eight wins as the absolute ceiling. Hilarious that there are some podcasts still talking about a shot at the playoff. This team is nowhere remotely close to making the playoffs.

So who are the wins?

Troy 100%
Maryland - likely
NW - likely

After that, who knows?

Washington
Illinois
Minnesota
UCLA
Wisconsin
Nebbie doubtful
tOSU Nope

I thought 8-4 was most likely before there was a snap taken this season.
Beating an FCS opponent didn't change that. Losing to the 'clones doesn't change that.
The offense is better than last season, but they're still not very good. That's what happens when you are the worst O in FBS. Improvement, even a lot of improvement, doesn't equate to becoming good. The 100+ offense is not good. It's just not car crash, eyeball bleeding horrific. Iowa aspires to break that #100 offense in FBS barrier.

You don't get to do that.

As has been pointed out to us incessantly over the years, the ONLY true measure of success or failure at the end of a season is to compare the final record against whatever your predicted W/L was in August. It doesn't matter at all how the season unfolds or how the wins and losses occur or to whom.

What're you new here or something?

You can bet that every upcoming opponent will watch film of the second half of the Iowa State game, and we’ll see how going in the air down the middle can work. They will also see how cade can be intercepted.

We win them all. There is a lot riding on the next 2 weeks of practice, film study and such. Anyone notice the two main things KF emphasized was red zone offense is not good enough and that we will be in games like this again. So it is what it is and it is water under the bridge, now the question is how much better can we get in the next 2 weeks. and then bye week before we go to Columbus.

Uh ... no.

Mich St winning at Maryland is making me rethink that as pretty high chance of hawks winning dropping fast.

Washington seems to have reloaded and the coaches seem to be working well

OSU is a probably highly likely a loss.

Nebby looks better

I retracted to an 8-4 record but 7-5 might be more like it unless we get the damn passing game going

7-5 to 9-3 is the right move. 8-4 is the middle so I'll go with that. We've been here before and Iowa still gets its wins afterwards but it won't be pretty as usual.

After that shit show yesterday, I see 1 win, or 9. Who the **** knows? I'll hold a finger to the wind to predict a game.

8-4 or better will be a 'win' this season.

As of right now, I don't trust this offense to do anything, let alone enough, in any game outside the next one and maybe the NW game.

And it really pisses me off that they won't be turning this gifted schedule into a 10-2 result, at worst! Just a slightly below average offense, that can let the defense rest for stretches, and this team cruises its way to 10 wins. Easily.

A lot of silly emotion in this thread. Schedule is too soft. Floor is 8 wins still.

Iowa is a top 10 defense IMO…. a bit worried about the pass rush though. Lester’s offensive scheme is bound to improve in the games ahead if Kirk allows it.

9-3 or 8-4, I voted 9-3. Invitation to the Who Cares Bowl.

I said 9-3 before the season and I'm sticking with it. ISU is a good team. It's not a bad loss but we needed it for higher goals. No room for any slip ups now and we probably habe at least one more in us thus 9-3.
