I agree with this. It shouldn't happen, period. You're not attending a debate, it's a presidential speech. It's going to be partisan and one sided. If you can't control yourself enough to sit and listen, 1. you shouldn't be in congress and 2. don't attend. It's classless.

A less than 2% popular vote win is hardly a “mandate”…. Landslides typically meant a 10 point minimum win…electoral college results mean very little..
Where people actually live, they seem to vote for Democrats…sorely populated areas seem to vote for Republicans. The “red/blue maps” ae very misleading…
Translation = Joel is in denial that Trump flipped all the swing states, made huge inroads into the black, and Hispanic vote in addition to winning both the popular vote and the Electoral College.
And won or gained ground for the republicans in all 50 states, winning 89% of the counties, and 100% of the "swing states" other than that the 2% doesn't really need any context, that can just stand on its own.

And he didn't need days or weeks to be determined the winner because it was clear and decisive win, AKA a mandate.
