Rep. Elissa Slotkin warns Harris is "underwater" in Michigan

Illegals already cannot vote in federal elections. It’s the most pointless bill ever written by man.

Why should democrats vote for something like that?
It is already happening. They already did a study of several states in the 2020 election after an audit of their voter rolls. It showed that illegals had cast ballots in the 2020 election. With more illegals here now more than ever we should expect that number to rise.

Internal polling has harris down in virtually all swing states and within a couple of points in Minnesota and Virginia. The VP debate may actually push Minnesota over the line to trump/Vance

Except we have direct evidence that they already are. The question isn't an if, it's how many.

Really? There’s a study now? Given the republican track record on this, I’m sure this is totally legit.

Showing an ID when voting seems like a very minor and reasonable change to add just a bit more confidence to our voting.
When this is brought up, there are always people bringing up cost and racist tactics and
The cost in Iowa is $8 for a non driver ID for 8 years. In my opinion, this is the the only ID that is relevant. Anyone who drives, smokes, or drinks alcohol should have a drivers license ID.

If you’re going to make an ID a requirement to vote they need to be free and every document you need to obtain to get one has to be free

All of the above.

And I agree that that memo from the Michigan candidate might be nothing more than some incentive to followers to increase efforts.

Should this disinformation be criminally punished, as Hillary implored, so we can deter future efforts to mislead the public?

Should we ban the candidate from social media, or just go for the ‘shadow ban’, where we hide their posts from most people?

You can keep saying that all you want. You have 30% of the electorate that think there is and all it would take are a few common sense measures that would lower that number dramatically. The fact that you wont vote against illegals being able to vote in our elections is more hurtful than any actual voting fraud to the left.
My grandmother, who passed some years ago, was born on a farm in Missouri. She at no time had a birth certificate. She got a social security number through an affidavit signed by the county clerk. These people exist all through the country. People have moved from the state there birth certificate is registered in. How are all these people going to vote?

Passport, birth certificate, social security number, drivers license, bank account, utility bill,.. this is not difficult.

We don’t want your dead grandma to vote.
That’s the point.

They who? Where's the link? I'd love to read about this.

The problem for Trump in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Georgia is he will need to win by enough to account for the “sudden” issues with counting on election night in Detroit, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Atlanta respectively.

Throw in Phoenix and Arizona.

Time will tell but things are looking up for Trump. Still a bit of a long shot, it’s Trump, but looking better!

So lies to true believers are ‘safe’ disinformation?

I’m trying to figure out where Hillary wants to reach.

Imagine (real hard) Trump lying to his supporters, that’s not the kind of disinformation you think Hillary wanted criminalized?

Most of those do not confer citizenship.

Conversation was about voter ID,.. Actual proof of citizenship would provide an additional layer of voting security, and could be addressed via birth certificate, passport, naturalization documents, etc... Again, not particularly difficult.

Why are you concerned about Hillary???

No one GAF.

You're slowly coming over to my side of the aisle, I can see it.. soon you will realize that comrade harris only cares about they/them, and trump cares about you. Join us, hox..

Give Yuri credit, he works REALLY hard to push Russian BS on this board. Apparently there is no such thing as trying too hard in Moscow.
Just wait until he gets paid in rubles!

I hear the exchange rate is not good.
Many people are saying this!

Problem stems from the fact that while it is against the law for a non-citizen to vote in federal elections, it's also against the law for any state to require proof of citizenship prior to voting in said federal elections,.. Most states only require registrants to check a box confirming citizenship, so if a non-citizen is willing to perjure themselves it's fairly easy to vote...

You’d think this would be easy to prove then.

what do you mean? the cnn article does "prove it"

in the yearslong investigation in texas (a state with more undocumented than any state other than CA), they found 0.01% votes could have been cast by "potential" non-citizens...and no one was ever charged with anything as a result (again...this is texas...every reason to aggressively prosecute probable voting violations)

So prove that the registrant voted, and then prove that they are not a citizen?,..not as easy as it sounds.
Well that’s weird, cuz in the article several of those states said they either found no instances where it happened, or few instances but their safeguards caught them.

Again, why do we need new legislation for this?

Because under current federal law, states are not allowed to ask for physical proof of citizenship prior to allowing participation in a federal election,... Be like bars being told to make sure that their patrons were of legal age, while at the same time preventing them from checking ID's...
