Rep. Phil Thompson's future

He isn't running for re election. Rumors are that he'll use his political science degree from Drake to become a lobbyist for the NRA at the statehouse. Anyone else hearing this? TIA

That seems like a bad move, unless the NRA turned itself around. The last I saw Wayne LaPierre had them bleeding money, losing members, and embroiled in a civil trial because he liked fancy things a little too much. He might be just cashing in for his family. If he wants a bigger future in politics he should chart a different path. He has the life story to provide an initial boost to replace Chuck or Kimmie.
