Republicans Don't Have Answers

The Left’s answer is to print money, which harms more people than it can ever help.
The rights answer is to print more money and to cut taxes which has played a major role in getting us to this point. Any politician who refuses to address defense spending as a driving of the deficit has a broken brain. It is perfectly obvious that reform needs to be multi pronged. Decrease spending and increase taxes.

the real drivers of the debt are SS and Medicare...and with our demographics, those costs aren't going down any time soon

The one single thing the federal government actually needs to spend money on and the one thing no private individual or group can do themselves is national defense, and that is the ONE budget line the leftist dems want to cut.:rolleyes:o_O

Must have a strong defense to protect the wealthy's assets. Don't ever pretend the Republicans care more than the Democrats about our military, either. The Cons are the ones who vote against taking care of them when they come home. Look at how they vote.

I WISH part of the left's answer was to print money. But the Rs won't allow that. Nor will they allow tax increases to pay the bills. But borrowing is peachy keen.

We have the best government Dark Money and continuing resolutions can buy.

also, the left wants to cut defense spending the exact same way republicans want to cut all spending

they say they want to...but then end up signing off on budgets above and beyond what is even being asked for (at least the dems with defense spending)

The United States spends as much in defense as the next ten countries combined. Combined. Who exactly is a threat? Defense spending is nothing except a giveaway to the weapons industry as well as an incredibly inefficient jobs program.

It is.

But the Rs won't allow that.

We HAD your money printing experiment.
They've been trying to reverse it for over a year and we're still seeing the regressive effects in the economy.

Sounds like something Putin would say.

I agree with your sentiment, but it's not so much the left doing that as the corporate Dems.

I thought this was going to be one of those videos where they ask people questions and they didn't give good answers, but instead it was just a guy listing a bunch of issues and saying Republicans don't have answers without offering any answers of his own.

Just because you guys dread that the truth about Supply Side Economics might become widely understood is not a reason to refuse to understand it.

... or maybe you do and are afraid of it? ... and want to create a widespread fear of it? If the economy were to start growing rapidly, there would be no need for you naysayers to hang around.

The same with Free Trade ... and a robust immigration policy ... and a muscular defense policy.

Believe me, we have the ideas ... the big and the bold ones anyway. The small stuff is for local Democratic tinkering types. (Free solar panels, etc.)

Supply side economics has simply accelerated us to where we are. Late-stage capitalism. One of the biggest lies in American history.

Deregulation and tax cuts don't create more jobs, they don't create growth, they don't increase investment, they don't pay for themselves. They use extra profits to figure out ways to extract more wealth from their employees and customers by offshoring production, designing obsolescence into their products and using lobbies to buy policy among countless other things.

"Trickle-down" economics is as much the cause of the situation we're in than anything. Extreme wealth inequality, sky rocketing housing and rent costs. The highest per capita healthcare costs with some of the worst outcomes in the developed world. The list goes on and on and on. It's time for something different.

How people can continue to parrot this position with no proof that it works and mountains of evidence that it doesn't after more than 40 years is the definition of insanity.

If your answer is to invest in more capital for production, here's exactly how that plays out in real wages that are supposed to offer more purchasing power for workers:
